8 years after the Truce of Drakefall ended the Dominance wars, the Grihan Family united the Clans of Mynshall from Brightware Castle. From Valenstadt the Grihan Dominion was established, the Kingdom of Dashingfall and the freehold of Yer Taurë were demanded to join the dominion or risk war. The threats of violence were met with scepticism by the dwarvish delegation, who mocked the Head of the new dominion, Alastair Grihan. Who promptly had the delegation held hostage and some murdered, a taste of the brutal tyranny of the Dominion. The Lords sent their still depleted armies to the Dominion to make a swift end of Alistair's cruelty. The end was indeed swift, but for the Featherstorm troops. The Dominion met with several new delegates who swore fealty to the Grihan family. Refusing to turn any of the established cities into the Capital of the Grihan Dominion, they ruled a city to be built around the docks of the Brightware loch located near their castle of the same name. They named it Rabenturm after the temple of the raven queen found many years before. The Grihan Dominion built Dawnton palace, a “living space fitting for the new overlords” their castle would remain outside the city walls of the Old Town until it too would be built around once the city grew.
