Prince Darian Brightflame and Princess Dathyra Inariel are Born on the Same Day

Life, Birth

5746

King Alaric's first child, Prince Darian, and King Eldrin's daughter, Princess Dathyra were born on the same evening, exactly ten years after the revolution ended, and under the sign of the Dragon Star. Both were born with birthmarks shaped as constellations on their backs. The meaning to the people was clear, these children were destined to rule Anestor together as king and queen. This was cause for much celebration and hope.

King Alaric of Western Anestor's first child, a son is born under the Dragon Star, much like his legendary ancestor, King Argus. Like King Argus, the Prince was born with a constellation on his back. It was the sign of the lion, sigil of House Brightflame, and the sign of kings. According to legend, King Argus was always meant to be reborn and unite the country once more, in its time of need.   While it is true, Anestor was doing better than it was under Marcisian control, monsters were reappearing in the land, and without Marcisian soldiers, it was difficult to keep order. There were arguments and land wars between local rulers, and the kings did not have enough men to keep the peace. There were questions about borders, and laws. King Alaric and King Eldrin were friends for many years, but their people were at each other's throats. Keeping both sides from breaking into outright war was taxing. It became clear to the kings that the only way to maintain peace was to unite their kingdoms into one country, but they did not know how.   Thankfully, the answer became clear on the night of the Dragon Star, for it was on that same night that Princess Dathyra, daughter of Eldrin and Delyra was born, and like Darian, she had the markings of a constellation on her back, but not of the lion, of Malora, celestial goddess of the elven people. This was seen as a sign. The gods themselves chose these two children to unite the kingdoms of east and west Anestor. The people believed this fully. It was prophesied that Argus would return, and this, the people believed, was that.   The people practically demanded a marriage between the two royals.
