Rhalzon, the Evening Star
Rhalzon (/ɻælson/) is the god of travel, isolation, privacy, vigil, and dreams. He is worshiped by those who travel a great deal (such as traders, explorers, and nomads) as well as by outcasts, exiles, and those seeking enlightenment.
History
The Age of Dawn
In his youth, Rhalzon's family was exiled from their homeland, along with all the nobility which the common folk believed had driven the kingdom into ruin. A string of misfortune followed the family, whittling their numbers down as they traveled across the lands of Thesilae in search of refuge, until at last only Rhalzon and his younger sister Romira remained. Half-starved and weary, the siblings continued to wander the world, developing opposite philosophies on life and mortality as time went on. While Romira grew increasingly bitter and jaded, Rhalzon is said to have reached a state of inner peace so deep that his soul shed its mortal shell and ascended to godhood.Description
Appearance
Rhalzon is a tall, thin taiga giant with slate grey skin covered in spiraling tattoos across his arms and chest. He has deep brown eyes that are said to reflect with the image of a million wandering stars, and long black-brown hair he keeps tied half up out of his eyes, with the rest hanging loosly about his shoulders. Rhalzon dresses as a humble monk, or an old hermit, in simple garments that are often filthy and tattered.Personality
Worshipers of Rhalzon believe that every beggar on the street could truely be their god in disguise, testing their kindness and patience, as he does in many of the stories parents tell their children. Perhaps in part due to his family's history of greed and indifference, Rhalzon is known to give generous rewards to those who pass his tests. He is also described as soft-hearted, reliable, and forgiving.Worshipers
Rhalzon is worshiped by many, if not all, of the nomadic peoples of Thesilae, in addition to the outcasts and exiles who have been banished from their homes. His followers often pledge themselves to a life of meditation or silent vigil, either in groups or alone.Edicts and Anathema
