Battle of Yunkadia

Battle between the Hyperion Federation and Cypher Dominion over the Yunkad homeworld of Yunkadia. The CD managed to create a wormhole close to the world and launch a planetary assault force.
HF home defence fleets scrambled there in desperation - losing Yunkadia will have a disastrous impact on the Federation, especially the Yunkad Coalition. But as there were no HF ships around at the time the wormhole was created, the CD only had to deal with defence satellites not ready for an invasion. They were overwhelmed easily.
The CD initially landed on one of the larger continents. They suffered many casualties, as Yunkads have weapons and shields built into their bodies. More Cypheans were deployed than the HF thought, though. They eventually took over that continent. Some of them equipped themselves with Hyperion technology found on the planet, causing the HF to hurry up even more. While the CD began their naval assault to land on other continents, the HF finally obtained reinforcements. The CD suffered many losses, but took over most of the oceans around their continent. The HF bought their ATVs, they now have a solid answer to the Cyphean ones. ATVs can travel over water in antigravity mode. Positrons were used to destroy enemy capital ships like carriers and heavy ATVs, using their Nightfall cannons. The HF is finally on the offensive (albeit slowly). The HF made too much use of the ATVs though, as the CD outfitted their fleet with anti air cannons and launched a large counter attack, pushing Federation forces back to several other continents. Attacking the heavily defended continents would prove to be a bad move.
The CD bought very little counters to Subterrenes (underground submarines) and pushed them back so well that they tried to use them against Cypher Dominion naval ships, but the sonic cannons would have to go through water for this, which is a less dense medium than rock. It brought the Federation enough time to amass a starfleet over the world, destroy all the Cypher forces around the wormhole, and bombard the world from orbit. Before they could enter said wormhole though, the CD closed it. No longer able to retreat or call reinforcements, the last of the CD forces were killed or taken prisoner. These prisoners were studied by the Federation and freed from their mind control. Horrified by the truth of their star nation, they got citizenship. The HF acquired a small Cyphean population.
