Prisms

A highly enigmatic 'race' of sentient crystalline entites with the abilty to float. While they rarely reproduce, they are still powerful on Mauray due to their floating nature and ability to manipulate light within their bodies.
Prism physiology requires Magic and Larjarak Crystal to function, otherwise they become regular crystals. This does not mean they have a strong magic attunement, and that is still controlled by the sentient mind. Prism attunement is slightly worse than of humans.
Due to their very unique composition, there is no known species that can become a parasite with a prism as host (with the exception of Etherials).

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Like all biological species, they have a psychological natural drive for reproduction. They do not have any concept of gender, but rarely reproduce anyway because it is difficult. They can spend a large amount of their body energy to form new larjarek crystal within a naturally formed regular crystal. These highly complex magical codes undergo self replication and grow in size within the crystal before forming the newborn prism after almost 1 year. Because the newborns body entirely depends on the composition of the natural crystal, prism ethnicities are not tied to culture or location at all. Any location can have any colour or body shape of prism. Also, a growing Prism needs to be exposed to daylight to obtain energy for growth.

Dietary Needs and Habits

It does not eat, but instead takes energy from the sun. Most of the sunlight that falls onto a prism is taken and used to power the persons sapience and various larjariek growths required for bodily function. This can cause them to create shadows under where they fly, and be visible under reflection. Although body shape and colours can vary significantly similarly to biological species, prisms are easily identifiable from other possible regular crystal growths.
