Rih'kiel - Yunkad Crossbreed

A Crossbreed species between Rih'kiel and Yunkad.
This species has a slightly larger population than most other crossbreed species, but very few exist in the Hyperion Federation. This is because they are an engineered race of the Purity of the Stars, and they allow the PotS to gain a significant advantage against the HF in many cases. However the HF is far more ethically bound than the PotS, so they cant engineer new species. This sort of genetic engineering of sapient beings is banned by the Hyperion Ethics Committee.
Rih'kiel - Yunkad crossbreeds inherit the powerful eye abilities of the Rih'kiel and the biomechanical property of yunkads, including their inbuilt shield generators and body weapons. They have been deployed to many battles between the PotS and HF. They have seen a lot of success of course, such as the destruction of Lazolla's planetary administration in 10 529. This shook the United Nations of Tebburus' government to its core, even knowing that almost any sufficiently massive target like that could be attacked at any moment. The HF has managed to find ways to fight back against them though - using individual yunkad and rih'kiel, they can reach an effectiveness relatively close to that of a rih'kiel - yunkad crossbreed, though ironically the HF relies primarily on sheer numbers in these fights. Other than that, they could try use some form of EMP but thats known to not always work on yunkad (typically it doesnt work).
Perhaps fortunately, there is one key disadvantage of these entities. They lose the ability for natural reproduction, instead having to be grown in vats or Replicator-built. Therefore, the PotS has entire stations dedicated to soldier growth, or construction. While these can 'print' out a lot of soldiers, the HF itself has access to far more resources and a larger population which allows them to compete with these projects.
