Ultra-Relativistic Quark-Gluon Plasma Hyperprojector
An extremely powerful, future Hyperion Federation weapon.
The URQG is a very large, spinally mounted weapon that is rarely used due to its sheer size. However, it bears a lot of firepower. It fires large, high energy beams of quark-gluon plasma at extremely high relativistic velocity. Despite the immense density of quark-gluon plasma, it can achieve a velocity over 0.99999c. Upon collision with a target, the quark-gluon plasma will become unstable and release an immense amount of particles and energy into the target. It is so energy intensive that it cannot function without Φ High-Energy Technology, which has a far higher energy level than λ High-Energy Technology.
Additionally, another drawback of the weapon is that it is not superluminal. For many intents and purposes, such as attacks between star systems, Tachyon Cannons or Trebuchet Class Deep Space Railcannons might be preferred. The URQG, however, is capable of annihilating almost anything it hits, even planets and stars, but with enough precision to also pierce through them and hit a target behind, and to target starships easily.
It could also be constructed using Ω Extreme-Energy Technology, the final tier. These weapons have access to enough energy that they can be shrunk down into small sizes. This allows it to be compact enough to be a turret, yet retain most of its original power. This means it can fire its very powerful beam with almost no drawbacks. It is a highly damage-energy efficient option, exceeding the Tachyon Phase Cannon, but without the superluminal velocity.
It is an extremely powerful addition to the HF arsenal, if difficult to use and large.
