Centaurs (Sen-tars)
Nature's most aggressive defenders
Centaurs are a species of half humanoid, half horse creatures. Like many creatures forged by supernatural and magical means Centaurs are considered to be magical beasts or monstrosities. Centaurs tend to live in hunter gatherer communities known as herds. They are fiercely territorial and often violently intollerant of incursions by humanoids in their territory.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Centaurs have the upper body of human and the lower body of a horse. The upper body always appears to be human. There have been no documented instances of an "elven" or "orcish" Centaur. No one knows why Centaurs always have human characteristics in their upper bodies.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Centaurs organize themselves in Kratocracies, or communities where the "strongest" rules. What constitutes the "strongest" varies between herds. For example, in the Balic Horde the strongest is the Centaur that is able to physically dominate challengers in combat.

History
The history of the Centaurs is shrouded in mystery. The prevailing theory is that Centaurs are the result of humanoids that have allowed their bodies to be altered by a god of nature. In particular the Centaurs are believed to be the result of human communities venerating the god of nature known as Skerrit and allowing the god to alter their bodies to be a form more pleasing to Skerrit. While Skerrit is not a particularly aggressive god, many Centaur communities are aggressive because they view themselves as blessed, superior, and defenders of the natural world. Many humanoid cultures and societies have come into conflict with the Centaurs of Thinia.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Centaurs are aggressive toward other sentient species. They are not completely beyond reason, but given the choice between talking with another sentient creature and driving a spear through its heart, the average Centaur will choose the latter.
