Introduction:
Fighters share an unparalleled mastery with weapons and armor, and a thorough knowledge of the skills of combat. They are well acquainted with death, both meting it out and staring it defiantly in the face. Fighters are typically formally trained within an academy, dojo, lodus, or other martial school. Players interested in playing a fighter can find the details at the following link;

Note: Fighters use the Alternate Fighter and Alternate Fighter Expanded supplements from Laser Llama. The main things these add is exploits for all fighters not just the Battlemaster. The Battlemaster is also updated to the Master-at-Arms and made the best at using exploits.
Subclasses:
- Arcane Knight: Arcane Knights supplement their skill with the armaments of war with arcane knowledge. Compared to mages who study only magic, Arcane Knights can only produce minor spells, but, when combined with their deadly skill with the weapons of warfare, these minor spells become potent enhancements. This is an update of the Eldritch Knight.
- Banneret:
- Champion: Champions forgo all other forms of improvement to focus on enhancing their raw physical might. These immense figures strive to maintain peak physical condition through relentless training. In battle, Champions perform supernatural feats of athleticism and overwhelm their foes with their raw power.
- Knight Errant: Often raised at court or in the upper circles of the nobility, the archetypal Knight Errant is a chivalric warrior of the highest order. They excel at mounted combat and wander the world in search of adventure and opportunities for heroism. These paragons of virtue are bound to defend the weak and weary. This is an updated version of the Cavalier.
- Master-at-Arms: While most Fighters master one specific martial discipline, a Master at Arms is the rare warrior who is able to truly master multiple styles of combat. Whether through grit, dedication, or extraordinary skill, these elite Fighters learn all they can about the theory of combat. A Master at Arms is always on the lookout for a new weapon or style of fighting to master. This is an update to the Battlemaster.
- Ronin: Though they have been known by many names over the ages, Ronin are Fighters who have been expelled from the service of their original lord or land. Regardless of the reason, these highly skilled warriors now roam the wild seeking absolution through battle. With nothing left to lose, these warriors fight with a deadly ferocity and ruthless focus unlike any other. This is an updated version of the Samurai. Flavor note, a Ronin could be a Samurai if they dedicate themselves to a government figure, usually a noble or monarch.
- Sylvan Archer: Originally hailing from the elder forests of the world, Fighters who train to become Sylvan Archers learn to enchant arrows with ancient elven magics. Over time these secrets have been spread beyond Elven society and communities. Traditionally, these warriors serve as guardians of places of great natural power, but they have been known to train worth outsiders in their signature magic.
The following subclasses are examples of Fighter Archetypes that can be unlocked through gameplay:
- Commander: Not all Fighters rely solely on themselves in battle, some lead others with their knowledge of tactics. Commanders lead at the front, issuing orders and inspiring greatness in others by their own brave deeds. By their presence, a Commander can transform an unorganized militia into a deadly fighting force.
- Marksman: While all Fighters learn to draw a bow or hurl a javelin, those known Marksmen are masters of ranged combat. The deadly skills of a Marksman are often backed up by their signature swagger and unshakable confidence. When combined, there are few challenges that a true Marksman cannot overcome.
- Mystic: Where most Fighters look to increase their physical abilities, those known as Mystics work to unlock the psionic potential of their mind. Drawing upon wondrous inner power, these ascetic warriors can perform feats that would be impossible through strength alone. Where others strive for physical victory in battle, Mystics strive for spiritual enlightenment. This is an update to the Psi Knight.
- Runecarver: Before the mortal races rose to power, the world was ruled by giants and their powerful Rune magic. Traces of this ancient magic can still be found in the wild and remote places of the world, and Fighters who learn to use the power of Runes to augment combat ability become known as Runecarvers. This is an update to the Rune Knight.
- Shadowdancer: The energies of the Shadowfell grant many strange and dark abilities to those who can wield them. The Fighters known as Shadowdancers learn to draw these sinister powers through themselves to create an exact copy of their bodies in combat. This is an update to the Echo Knight.
Fighters in Thinia:
Fighters in Thinia consist of a wide variety of warriors. Typically fighters gather and train in academies, schools, lodus, and dojos. Many fighters take great pride in their school and teaching lineage. Many fighters will speak of their teachers with reverence. Fighters choose a subclass at level 3. This may be the culmination of years of training or a choice made as of the result of adventure. The following institutions are known for training fighters in Thinia;
- The Capsan Legions: The Capsan Empire is currently in ascendancy and this is in large part thanks to the might and discipline of the Capsan Legions. The Legions are primarily comprised of heavy infantry. When these men and women finish their service many become mercenaries and adventurers.
- The Kennels: A school in the Mabari Federation that trains warriors to fight with a dog companion. Some of these techniques have found their way to similar schools across Thinia, but it is generally agreed that the Kennels is the first school of its kind.
- Magna Lodus: The premier gladiatorial school in the Capsan Empire. The students within Magna train in a wide variety of martial techniques. Magna has legendary adventurers, commanders, and mercenaries amongst its instructors. Those that train at Magna often become famous gladiators and adventurers.
- Stonearm Academy: A famous academy founded by the Imperial Dwarf Jun Stonearm. This academy specializes in techniques utilizing polearms, glaives, spears, and other weapons with reach. The Stonearm Academy still exists despite the loss of the ancestral stronghold of the Dragoncrown Dwarves. The Academy is also noted for accepting students from any ancestry or background so long as they can complete the entrance challenge.
- Timber Creek: What began as a wood cutters camp in Lokkheimer became a martial school when the wood cutters developed self defense techniques to fight off the damgerous beasts of the forests and the other monsters who would prey upon them. Timber Creek still operates as a wood cutters camp, but it is predominately a martial school.
