Genasi (Jen-Nass-Eee)
Touched by the Elements
Those who think of other planes at all consider them remote, distant realms, but planar influence can be felt throughout the world. Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Genasi assume the family name and naming traditions of their parents. However, they will often take on nicknames or change their given name to reflect their elemental nature.
Genasi naming conventions can be found at the following link; Genasi Names
Major Organizations
The following organizations are known factions tied to the Genasi;
- The Descendants: A group of fanatical Air Genasi that believe they are the descendants of Yan-C-Bin, the Prince of Evil Elemental Air. They are attempting to conjure the Everstorm from their citadel in the northern Heartland forest called the Crowned Forest.
History
Genasi have existed as long as humanoids have existed on Thinia. Many Genasi are born through the union between an elemental being like a Djinn, and a humanoid. However, Genasi can also be created through elemental magic rituals, exposure to items of elemental power or places of elemental significance. Due to the neutral nature of the elemental planes Genasi are not viewed with the same reverence as Aasimar or the same disdain as tieflings. There are cultures that view Genasi as blessed children and others as cursed as the physical manifestations of their ancestry often seperate them from their neighbors.
