WttSS session 12: "The GM Continues Game Realignment"
General Summary
THE OASIS SPACEPORT
Lila, the concierge provided a bunch of info- Maths was done on bribing officials, so no declarations of cargo or restricted items were needed (GM to do maths)
- She agreed to keep the PCs actively updated on legislation changes in the city
- She answered some questions - for a small admin fee - concerning the Dance of the Red Veils ship and crew, revealing their flight plan times
- She provided details on Bakhtiyar Yazdan to allow the party to create the best gift, giving his favourite fruit and musical instrument (GM details needed) - half the party headed into The Bazaar to find such things, and to pursue tech and repair needs
Kerman approached one of the servants to ask about the Xinghur - to her the 'desert people'. She was shocked that Kerman was here in the city, appreciating that he wasn't one of the planet's Xinghur but still taken aback, as relations between the city and the desert people are not good. Finding solice later in Murad, the woman revealed that the two groups usually fight when they meet and that she, at the very least, is terrified of them. Zarzur sees someone has grown an echeveria (desert rose) plant in a common area of the space port
GM note: turns out there are two plants called 'desert rose', which is greatly annoying, but I've been going for the echeveria plant - specifically becuase of the symmetry of the shape looking like a mathematical, or rather geometry, of the flower appealing to the scientists that lie behind it as an organisation's symbol
The plant was donated by an unknown sponsor who has had their name purposefully omitted from the garden record. They want people to know that someone of influence has spent a lot of money making this donation to the city but they don't want people to know who they are.
DANA'S COMPASS AND THE DANCE OF THE RED VEILS'S CREW
'Investigating' the Dance of the Red VeilsMurad and Zarzar head out to The Dirt-Strips spaceport, where the Dance of the Red Veils has landed. One of the crew remains on guard, the others known to be away at, usually drinking at The Cantina. They bribe the stevedores working in the local area (money to be worked out by the GM) to clear off, giving them free run at the back of the ship and use Zarzur's digital prowess to break the locks on the docking module, sneaking in. Much theft is commited for the guard find when he comes back inside
Zarzur goes to the bridge and learns the locations the crew next plan to head out to on Ghodar and the name of their most trusted fence, Zitane, who operates out of the main Bazaar building. Murad, liberates the contents of the crew's weapons rooms:
- 2 accelerator carbines
- 6 accelerator reloads
- 1 Vulcan carbine
- 3 Vulcan Scorpions
- 5 Vulcan reloads
- 4 Dura knives, with 6 cells
The PCs escape but cannot cover their tracks - they stole a bunch of stuff of course anyway.
THE BAZAAR
The real science is done in the main Bazaar building, not in the outside sprawlKerman, Khalil and Masruq take a shuttle to the beginnings of the sprawl that is the outer bazaar, proceeding on foot into the throng. It takes them little time to work out that anyone out here is more likely to be a lesser quality operator and that the main building will house those really in the know about the science of Ghodar and the city being able to make use of antenna to affect the local atmosphere as the party saw in the First-come ruins. Solar Wind militia challenge the party
We ended the session with the milita demanding the three PCs submit to a stop and search for items breaking Khamzi's laws.
