The ster-bastan usuallt number 3000 soldiers in strength, along with 300 engineers and whatever soldiers happen to be native to the settlement they are guarding.

Equipment

The engineers often have engineering tools and construction tools as well to help repair the fortress.

Weaponry

The Ster-Bastan are equiped with a spear and a bow for the regular members, and a staff with runes for the mages. all members keep a short sword on them for needed close combat

Structure

the ster-bastan consist of squadrons, consisting of 200 men each, led by a squadron captain. each squadron is split into squads of 20 each, each led by a sergeant. The total force is led a force commander.

Tactics

They stay near the fortress and on its wall, raining arrows for along as possible, and marching out with spears when needed to prevent damage to the fortress

Training

Each member is trained for about 3 months before service, and each engineer is trained how to do their job for 5 months total

The ster-bastan has support from any militia in the city and any siege weapons and defenses in the city

Recruitment

The ster-bastan are trained from volunteer citizens among the cities. All recruits must take some physical tests to see if they have the physical qualities needed to be a soldier

History

The ster-bastan have fought in every major battle against one of the northerns bastions cities, as they are always on guard there
