Structure
The northern bulwark is ran by the northern tyrant, a leader with near complete power, however leaves specifics to the council members. The council is directly under him, and include the magister of defense, who is the knight-commander of the ster-tyrantic, the magister of foreign affairs, the magister of domestic affairs, the magister of magical affair, and the magister of arms, who deals with the regular armies. Under the council are the grand generals of the 12 shields, who have control over their military affairs under the regulations of the magister of arms and the northern tyrant, as well as being the ones who will be made successor if the tyrant dies. each outpost and city has its guardian, who acts as the owner and leader of the outpost.
Culture
The northern bulwark are a very enduring people. As they live in a place with extreme conditions, this endurance and ruggedness is a very important trait for them. They are also extremely spiritualist, believing in the sacredness of nature around them, not taking anymore from nature than what they need. They are very suspicious of outside people, not treating them badly, but being very careful around them.
Public Agenda
The leaders of the northern bulwark have always projected the goal of keeping their people safe from any and all threats. As such, they are very defensive and respond to any threats with complete seriousness.
Assets
the northern bulwark has some of the best fortresses in the continent. They also have a monopoly on capability to ice magic. They have no fleets as their territory is landlocked with no access to the oceans. They have several breeds of common animals like horses and dogs that are bred to withstand the cold. the area has a lot of crystals they sell and trade with, and enough more common metals to forge the needed weapons and other equipment for their armies.
History
180 AEC: several organizations declare war on the n'therain kingdoms, causing many to flee from the kingdoms north
200 AEC: the first refugees arrive at the mouth of the tytanus mountain ranges and begin to form camps there
230 AEC: the first settlement, citn-donari, is made in the ice deserts
300 AEC: the northern bulwark introduces itself to the other nations properly and begins forming diplomatic relations
330 AEC: the northern bulwark is officially recognized as a nation by the other governments
460 AEC: the northern bulwark suffers their first attack by another nation, driving fear into the leaders.
480 AEC: the northern bulwark begins to become more isolationist
