Aldammii
The Aldammii are a corps of supremely trained and talented warriors selected and recruited by the Ulan Emperor of Sellenia himself, Hyrash IX. These aldammii are fanatically bound to the will of the Emperor through a blood magic ritual that forces them to adhere utterly to his commands, whatever they may be, as long as they live. Carefully chosen from the best examples of whatever martial disciplines the Emperor can find, these men and women are among the most feared soldier-assassins in the world.
The Aldammii are magically bound to comply with the expressed will of the Ulan Emperor or to die in the attempt. Individual aldammii can function rationally and reasonably while seeing the will of the Emperor done, but they are helpless to do anything contrary to those expressed instructions. Even the slightest delay or hesitation in successfully completing the assigned tasks causes the aldammii physical pain and distress.
The process by which an aldammii is enthralled is through a dangerous and (for the Emperor) painful ritual wherein his own blood is mingled with the blood of the recruit. When the ritual is complete, the aldammii's mind and soul are utterly enslaved to the expressed will of the Emperor. On the (very) few occassions when the ritual failed, the recruit died a grusome death and the Emperor suffered terrible agony for several days. Only the Emperor himself knows why those particular rituals failed.
The Aldammi as a unit number 286 members (214 men, 72 women), all of whom are highly trained and fanatically motivated. All are seasoned killers long before they were enthralled into the Aldammii ranks. All are well versed in multiple forms of combat and are supremely capable with many varied weapons and tactics. Most speak multiple languages, many are experts in disguise or stealth, and many more are from distant lands and regions which makes them ideal spies or assassins.
Structure
An elite but eclectic corps of (currently) 214 men and 72 women of varying ethnicities and nationalities. All are superbly trained in multiple martial disciplines with a multitude of weapons skills and all are utterly and fanatically committed to the will of the Ulan Emperor.
Culture
All aldammii are Human, since the Ulan Emperor can only enthrall beings with the same blood as his own. The ritual and spells involved in the process of creating aldammii are quite painful and significantly dangerous for the Emperor, so recruiting new members to the corps is not done lightly or very often. Once enthralled, the only known means of releasing an aldammii from the bond to the Emperor is the death of the individual... or the Emperor.
