Ilmarinen (ill-mar-eenen)
Ilmarinen is the offspring of the Sky god Khazhukko and the Earth goddess Khazhakka. He is the god of mountains, the place where the sky meets the earth. It is the god Ilmarinen that created Dwarves when, after spending lifetimes searching for a wife and finding none, he created children in his divine forge from earth and sunlight. To these children (Dwarves) he has promised a magical mill that creates endless supplies of grain, salt and gold from nothing at all. This Mill is promised to the “Clan most worthy” in the eyes of the gods.

Ilmarinen is very often depicted in art as wearing a huge golden belt that legend says holds the necessary components and runic instructions for the construction of the promised divine Mill which will be granted to the "Clan most worthy" and will produce endless amounts of gold, grain and salt for the Clan that wins it.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Ilmarinen is often symbolized in Dwarven runes by the rune denoting "hammer". This is thought to stem from the tenet that he created Dwarves at his divine forge from earth and sunlight.

Ilmarinen has a three-day holiday celebrated by all Dwarves beginning on October 30 of every year.
