Scout Company

Scouts in Cobal are a lightly armored infantry soldier trained to move fast, in cover, and attack with lightning speed using missiles and blades. These units can cover vast distances at speed, and are trained to maintain a level of endurance that is truly amazing. Their horn bows and crossbows can penetrate most enemy armor at 100 yards and can pass through the barrel of a horse entirely at 50 yards. Most Scout Companies are raised at the Shire-level, and will be combined with other units to form larger regiments. They are made up of (roughly) 50% Humans and 50% Halflings.
