The Menar Crystalwoods

Located in Central Vinia the Menar Crytalwoods are a place of both spiritual and arcane importance. This location is often used as a burial ground for protectors, knights and those of noble blood, for this reason the Lampbearer a devout order of priest, monks and druids, is protecting the woods from both external and internal forces as the dense forest is home to many destructive forces of nature. The clergy patrols the southern end of the weald daily and takes care of minor problems caused by the constant Aether Mist coming from the deep woods, even though exploring the Menar Crystalwoods without the clerics' permission is strictly forbidden many would-be Protectors have tried their luck in the hope of finding an Aether Crystal, most do not return. Genuine Protectors of any ranks are often hired by the clergy to slay beasts that venture out of the forest, many Vinian Protectors' first contracts are inside the Menar Crystalwoods.   Due to the burial ground being host to a large number of Aetherfused individuals, and also because the forest is hosting a large number of Aether Crystal the trees have morphed slightly, vibrant with autumn-like colors all year long due to the trees and leaves absorbing aether. The Menar Crystalwoods are one of the rare known host to Magebark trees, a unique kind of tree that slowly produce Aether Crystal as fruits, but due to the tree arcane process these crystals are often deeply embedded, with the only known way to remove them are to cut the trees which the Lampbearer have exclusive rights to, the rest of the wood is used to create many mage reagents including papers and scrolls. The local variant of Magebark is simply called Menar Wood, it has a slightly more colorful bark than other of its specie and has a white interior which is often preferred by mage when creating scrolls or papers.
