Nightfall Society

The Nightfall Society is a disorganised and informal religious group within the realm of Namorian society, encompassing individuals who hold a deep reverence for Tenebris, the god of darkness. While not openly embraced by the mainstream, the Nightfall Society is a loosely connected network of worshippers that seeks to maintain a delicate balance within the Namorian Pantheon. It is within this enigmatic group that the Nocturne Circle, a secretive ruling council, holds its sway and exerts influence over the affairs of the Nightfall Society.   Unlike other prominent religious orders, the Nightfall Society operates in the shadows, hidden from public view. Its members understand the necessity of Tenebris' presence in the pantheon. However, their worship and practices are often shrouded in mystery and met with suspicion by the wider populace. The grand temple dedicated to Tenebris, known as the Veiled Sanctum, stands in a state of disrepair, abandoned by the organized faction of the Nightfall Society. Even the destitute and homeless are reluctant to seek refuge within its hallowed halls, sensing an aura of unease that permeates the ancient structure.   Within the Nightfall Society, there exists a spectrum of believers, ranging from casual participants to devoted adherents. Festivals associated with the worship of Tenebris often blend revelry, drinking, and indulgence, drawing the attention of those seeking a taste of the forbidden or the allure of the obscure. However, such fleeting interests often fade as the superficiality of their engagement becomes apparent, leaving only a small core of dedicated followers who truly understand the deeper significance of their devotion.   It is worth noting that various peripheral organizations find their place within the wider worship of Tenebris. Assassins, criminal fraternities, and those operating on the fringes of society often revere aspects or minor deities associated with Tenebris. Limenon, the god of forgotten and lost things, holds particular appeal to those seeking solace in the shadows. Carceros, the god of prisons and confinement, finds veneration among those who reside behind bars or engage in illicit activities. These factions exist at the periphery of the Nightfall Society, offering their own interpretations and practices while acknowledging the overarching influence of Tenebris.
