Gnomes
Gnomes take delight in life, enjoying every moment of invention, exploration, investigation, creation and play.
Their energy and enthusiasm for living shines through every inch of their body. A gnome's personality is often writ large in their appearance. As far as they are concerned being alive is a wonderful thing, and they squeeze all enjoyment they can out of it. Despite living two to three centuries on average, they can seem to wonder that in all that time, they can't get in enough of what they want to do and see. Gnomes often speak as if their thoughts can't get out of their head fast enough. On Timor, Gnomish society generally is centred around southern Korosk, just north of the Halflings. Their towns are usually both above and bellow ground, and they make their homes in small burrows. They are the greatest engineers on the planet, making incredible machines from their underground labs. Often, these are sold to their close allies - the dwarves - to help their mining efforts. Much like the Halflings, they do not have a king or queen, although they are loyal to the dwarven king (despite not officially being his subjects). The head of their society is generally the head artificer, currently Artificer Trembix Altrousse, who is the head of their engineering endeavours.
