Timor

Timor is the elven word for 'Godlands', and is the collective name for the known world. It is home to the great civilisations of Elves, Dwarves, Dragonborn and, laterally, Humans. Throughout Timor's history these civilisations have vied with each other for power, influence and riches, and have met both conflict and peace with each other as well as with the other minor civilisations with whom they share it.   For thousands of years, the Elves of Alvas and Dragonborn of Harad co-existed as the greatest and oldest civilisations on Timor. For a long time their relationship was good, but with time and the weight of various transgressions they became embroiled in a cold war which often threatened and continues to threaten the peace of the world. As yet, the two have never met in all out conflict.   As proud and old a nation as the Elves and Dragonborn, are the Dwarves, Halflings and Gnomes of Korosk. Less interested in politics, the Dwarves have long remained content to mine their ores and gems in the comfort of their mountain homes, close to their halfling and gnomish kin who have settled in the foothills of their mighty kingdom.   The last of the great civilisations are the humans, who have experienced a meteoric rise over the last 400 - 500 years. At first the others took little notice of the collection of what seemed little more than disparate tribes scattered across Bandoor However, as these tribes gained in power, technology and influence among their peers, they attracted attention. The Thraxan Empire dominates most of Bandoor, with The Sampalan Kingdom situated in The Western Peninsula on the side of Bandoor.   Ordash is a large island situated between Bandoor & Alvas, not far from the coastline of either. It is the home of a great city of half-orcs and goblins, who freed themselves from the tyranny of orcs during the great dwarvish war.   Finally, The Rend is a collection of islands off the north west coast of Alvas, where a swirling maelstrom sea separates broken and fractured islands which rumour says used to be a fully formed continent of elves. It is thought to be the site of some magical cataclysm, but access to the islands are strictly prohibited by elven blockade.
