Dracogale
Dracogale is a nation in the northern reaches of Nelon ruled by a clan of Iron Dragons, a member of a rare type of dragon known as Ferrous dragon's that seem to claim to have ruled all of Tirestir at one point in the far past. This region has an incredibly high concentration of Dragons, but not the true dragons that make their lairs deep within the earth, high on mountaintops, or disguised among the mortal races, but instead Wyverns, Drakes, and creatures still defined as dragons, but not considered among the ranks of the True Dragons. Despite this high concentration of dragon type creatures, this does not mean true dragons do not live in this area, since the Iron dragons that rule these lands are consider True Dragons.
The Iron dragon's of Dracogale are part of the larger Iron Dragon clan on Tirestir and likely the most succesful group known to exist. These dragon's rule their land with a specific brand of order thought to be harsh to many, as crimes are punished severly and stepping out of line and individuality among the 'lesser species' is seen as criminal to these iron dragons. Their lands are highly structured, and anyone travelling through these lands can expect extremely safe passage although despite this otherwise safe and structured nature they are one of the only lands in 'Civilized Tirestir' known to not give special rights to members of the Freesword's guild. Guild's and businesses who do set up office within the lands of Dracogale can expect to be protected by the Iron Dragon's themselves, as they see all in their realm as under their purvue, so even stealing from a store owner can bring down the wrath of a dragon who rules that area. The only other dragon's who live in Dracogale are the Chromatic Dracogale Lauth, which have been given special rights by the Iron dragons to rule one of the cities within Dracogale.
The Dracogale Lauth is a group of five dragons one yellow dragon, one black dragon, one white dragon, one deep dragon, and one Dinterium Dragon, with the lattermost being the head of the Lauth. This Lauth uses the draconic practice known as hidecarving where the dragons will use draconic runes to essentially enchant their bodies, giving them powerful magical protections in combat. The dragons will also hidecarve some of the wyrm's and Drakes that serve them and incredibly rarely a kobold shaman or chieftain that proves themselves to their leaders. The Dinterium dragon being the leader of a group of chromatic dragons seems odd, given a Dinterium dragon is generally categorized as a metallic dragon, however this dragon and its ancestors were exiled from their metallic dragon kind due to their harsh nature.
Fauna & Flora
Wyvern's Crest
In the untamed lands of Dracogale, a unique plant known as Wyvern's Crest thrives amidst the rugged terrain. This plant earned its name due to its distinct appearance resembling the crest of a wyvern. Wyvern's Crest is characterized by tall, slender stalks that bear vibrant, serrated leaves in various shades of green. At the top of each stalk, a cluster of delicate flowers blooms, displaying fiery hues of red, orange, and yellow. The petals of these flowers possess a slight iridescence, reminiscent of a wyvern's scales. The Wyvern's Crest is known for its resilience and the ability to grow in rocky crevices and cliff edges, often serving as a navigational landmark for travelers within the treacherous Dracogale region.
Drakefire Salamander
The Dracogale region is teeming with a unique creature known as the Drakefire Salamander. These small, agile reptiles possess fiery red scales that shimmer in the sunlight. They are known for their ability to exhale bursts of scorching flames, a trait reminiscent of the dragons that dominate the region. The Drakefire Salamander is highly adapted to the harsh environments of Dracogale, with specialized heat-resistant scales and a keen sense of smell that allows them to locate prey and navigate the rocky landscapes. These salamanders often form symbiotic relationships with the dragons of the area, assisting them as scouts or providing valuable servants or companions.
