Stone of Gall

This small, stony island nation, if it can be called such a thing, is named the Stone of Gall. It is less of a nation, and more of a prison island. Of course, the Astartii Imperium don't refer to it as such, since it was originally created by the prisoners as a slight meant to anger August Galleric, but the Freebooter Anchorage have taken the name and ran with it. Used by the Astartii Imperium and the Freebooter Anchorage with a type of unspoken truce upon arrival, the two countries throw any and all criminals and dangerous creatures they can contain, but not kill, onto the island.   Previously, the three countries along the coast had hoped the channel between the mainland and the Stone was enough of a deterrent, but the Astartii Imperium and the Freebooter Anchorage have since created lookout towers in cooperation with the Coria Collective, as well as a randomly offset schedule of naval vessels roaming the waters, to ensure that none of the imprisoned people or creatures make their way back to the mainland.   Currently, there is a rough estimate of people and monster on the island, which typically stays in between 100-200, though with the amount of death and life on the island, it can never be accurate.   On the Stone of Gall, the high value prisoners that reside there are kept well tracked. Most infamously, there resides in the earth below the Stone, an ancient black dragon that, though none will freely admit, nobody really truly knows how it got there, just that it hasn't bothered leaving quite yet.

Fauna & Flora

Spectral Felhound   The Spectral Felhound is a haunting creature that prowls the shadows of the Stone of Gall. This ghostly canine is shrouded in ethereal mist, its form flickering between the material and spiritual realms. The Felhound possesses an uncanny ability to track and locate the escaped prisoners or dangerous creatures that inhabit the island. It is believed that the Felhound has an innate connection to the ancient black dragon beneath the Stone, serving as its guardian and protector. The prisoners and inhabitants of the island fear the eerie howls of the Spectral Felhound, as it signals the imminent arrival of the dragon's wrath.   Shadowvine (Obscuria)   The Shadowvine is a unique plant that thrives in the dark and foreboding environment of the Stone of Gall. It is a twisting and thorny vine that grows close to the ground, its leaves exuding an eerie purplish-black hue. The Shadowvine has the remarkable ability to absorb and harness the residual arcane energies present on the island, resulting in its unique coloration. The plant is known for its noxious thorns and tendrils that release a paralyzing toxin, making it a natural deterrent for anyone attempting to traverse the treacherous landscape. It is said that the Shadowvine possesses magical properties, and its extracts are sometimes used by the inhabitants of the Stone of Gall as a potent ingredient in dark rituals or as a defense against the dangerous creatures that dwell on the island.

Natural Resources

Midnightstone   Midnightstone is a rare and enigmatic mineral that can be found scattered throughout the Stone of Gall. It is a deep black stone with a smooth, polished surface that seems to absorb all light around it. Midnightstone is known for its unique properties, as it has the ability to dampen and suppress magical energies. It is often used in the construction of prison cells and containment chambers to prevent the prisoners' use of magic and limit their escape attempts. The Astartii Imperium and the Freebooter Anchorage have also discovered that Midnightstone can disrupt the abilities of certain dangerous creatures, making it a valuable resource for keeping the island secure. The exact origin and formation of Midnightstone remain a mystery, adding to its allure and intrigue.
