The Prime Material

The Prime Material Plane is the plane in which the planet Toril and the continent of Faerûn reside. Within the World Axis Cosmology model prevalent among scholars, the Prime Material occupies the very centre, separated from the other planes by the Ethereal Plane.
To many people in Tiriande, the Prime is synonymous with the continent of Faerûn, as that is the primary contact they have with it.
Most demographics of peoples within the city can trace their origins to this plane.
