The Ninth Kingdom falls to the Legion

With no enemies behind them and their enemies behind them, The Brutal One leads a campaign of fear against the Kingdom of Broolwugg. With every city, town or hamlet that falls to the Legion, the Brutal One beats their leadership to death in a public execution. They bring the corpses of their victims to fortified cities and leave them for them to observe. The Brutal One captured a small village and gathered them all into their longhouse. He had them participate in the lottery. The winner was set free, second place had their legs broken. The rest of the village was locked in the longhouse as it was burned down.   When these stories made their way to the towns the Legion had not attacked, people fled en masse. By the time the Legion arrived at the capital, they were at full fighting strength as they had met little resistance.   The capital's walls were scaled and the Brutal One and his men covered the roads in blood.
