Hourglass Beetle

Hourglass Beetles, or Kaw'renst'fasa are insects that live in the deserts and canyons of Renkatoh a.k.a. "The Fracture". They are medium sized, about the size of the palm of an adult Hyum, and are shaped like an oval. But when they spread their wings to fly, their exposed body reveals an hourglass shape.
The passage of time on Renkatoh is relative, due to the Fractal Fog, so the hourglass - Toh'rens' main way to timekeep - is rarely used there. Therefore, most believe that the beetle was named based on the accepted definition of the word elsewhere in the world.
The Hourglass Beetle is the unoffical symbol of The Kindred.
