A crystalline material used by The Kindred by harnessing electricity in their bodies that they gain from from the fog in The Divide. They have trained themselves to expel this power through the sand as mini-storms, weapons, and sand manipulation, in a form of swaying.
The Kindred city of Moon Drift is in the cliffside of a hidden canyon and is built out of snake glass. Skilled builders simply touch the ground, creating a "living" snake of sand, which arises and can be formed into a shape. Then, once in place, a high volt of electricity is shot through the sand solidifying it into an architectural form.
