Sword of Kas
When the Lich Vecna raised up his lieutenant Kassar al'Fajadi, better known as Kas the Bloodheart, as a vampire, he gifted his greatest warrior with a potent sword of his own devising. This longsword was able to draw the blood from a dying victim, feeding it to Kas and keeping the vampire strong. It also allowed him protection from sunlight and a number of other magical abilities (although the exact powers seem to vary according to the tale).
When Kas betrayed Vecna, the two battled, and the Lich's last spell consumed Kas utterly. All that was left was the vampire's sword, although some of the warrior's soul remained as a fragment inside it, guiding anyone who dared to claim it to dark deeds. Whenever the Sword of Kas appears, it is a herald of woe, and many have attempted to destroy it (and seemingly succeeded). Despite this, the Sword continues to resurface.
