Mionagral Orbis

The natural order, great as it is, does have a vice to disrupt it. Shortly after the birth of existence and the stability of elements, a creation took place that was put into effect by the laws of the gods, stating that order could not be without entropy. The argument was made that an already balanced universe did not need the additional disorder, but by then it was too late. This tangible discord was created artificially, as such it did not mingle so readily with nature, and so it was rejected. Living as an entity separate and yet a part of nature, what was to become the hated Mionagral Orbis remained dormant for ages to come. Mionagral Orbis found a sustenance in the sinful tendencies of organisms.   First it was the dragons. In the Old World many various creatures existed in a mutual manner, with dragons being amongst the most powerful. Their cowed natural tendencies of greed and destruction that were quelled by the gods when the world was created fell away to the temptations of the Mionagral Orbis. Other prehistoric beings were subverted to the shadows, becoming demons, goblins, succubi, gargoyles, and a whole manner more monstrosities.   The corruption grew far too rampant, and soon the last traces of strong-hearted civilization were confined to a single fortress as the hoards of evil swam through blood and mud to their final hunt. That was when Amykyst, the most powerful magus of the Old Earth saved the universe from total darkness. Creating a massive temporary portal into the aether, humanity was able to narrowly escape the following collapse of the Old Earth. The universe exploded into the new cosmic multiverse, a near infinite collection of worlds with their own laws of science. The Mionagral Orbis lost almost all its power, as it had invested its lifeforce into living beings and could not live without them. A small measure of dragons and demons filtered into various worlds along with the civilizations that were saved, but now evil’s hold was weak and spread apart. Peace and the natural order were restored. Newly blossoming worlds and their organisms had developed a sort of immunity to the hold of the Mionagral Orbis, and only those sinners who really sought its power whether out of curiosity or greed could be tempted by its apples of truth.   Those beings who would seek any sort of power from the Mionagral Orbis had to be stopped in some way, and so a gathering of extremely powerful magi were tasked with maintaining order across the multiverse. When necessary, one will act to steer civilizations away from the Mionagral Orbis’s total destruction. Since the properties of the multiverse and multiple timelines are so complex, these magi have been known to appear in multiple universes, and die out when a world naturally dies.   Persons that seek the power and revelation of the Mionagral Orbis and its truths are then easily subverted, releasing their inner negative spirit and emotions, and acting on these whims. Evil does exist beyond the supernatural hate of Mionagral Orbis, but it is part of the natural order and does not mean petty perverse acts of sin can subvert oneself to true evil.   Followers of the Mionagral Orbis’s path in Toran gather themselves under the banner of the Oculus Rite, a heretical group of demi-demons and worshippers intent on subverting the natural world to evil. Without the Ordersmen of the Eon Holy Church and techmaturges of the city Elarus to keep members of the Oculus Rite disorganized, raided and purged constantly, Toran would begin to lose. The world is a bright and cheerful place, but in the shadows clashes an endless battle to preserve the natural order of good.
