Toran

With the destruction of the Old World, the land was divided into many parts, creating the multiverse. And so the world of Toran was formed. Dwarves, then humans and even other unique races evolved into intelligent beings. And so it was that they discovered the contrasting arts of thaumaturgy and techmaturgy. Inherited magic and learned science. These fires of technology would come to kindle ambitious waves of progress for humans, and wars that would divide them.   By the will of the Church, thaumaturgy was shunned and techmaturgy was embraced as an art for the masses. Yet some magicians dared to continue their traditions in secret. Even the Church and the engineers of Elarus dabbled in the very knowledge they deemed heretical. With a prolonged unrest in the lands, and whispers of the gods turning in their sleep, evildoers look to strike a crippled world.
