Lados
Land of Adventure
Lados is a large, biologically diverse continent generally displayed in the eastern hemisphere on most Torian maps. It has played host to many if not all of the most world-changing events that have taken place in Torar, and bears the complex makeup of that history in both its lands and peoples. The largest allied government on the continent is that of the Ivory Duchies along the east coast, though with several cities as members of the Solarian Alliance in the south and with Sendrellar in the north, the most powerful or influential governing body is far from easy to determine.
Geography
The geography of Lados is as varied as one would expect of such a large continent. The northernmost reaches beyond the Whitepeak Mountains are snowy tundras and glaciers known as the Dragonwaste Tundra. The southernmost quarter of the continent is a large arid desert of harsh, dry, hard land west of the Ma'alhaya River and rolling, deadly dunes and sandstorms east of it.
On the western coast of the continent the warm seas and winds blowing upward from the tropics creates a lush, verdant region that dries out more and more the further east you go until you find yourself in the hardscrabble, rough living that is the Anauroch Desert along the western borders of the tall, craggy Towers Mountains. Passing over these nigh-impassible peaks you find a cooler, more coniferous forested region of rolling hills known as the Ivory Coast with white cliffs and prosperous city-states lining the eastern coast.
Fauna & Flora
Primarily known as a Human continent, Lados is just as diverse as all the continents are. Humans do dominate the demographics, but there are many other species across the landscape, including large clusters of Moriedhel in the south and several major dwarven regions in the east, southwest, and northwest.
Lados sports coniferous forests along its northern and eastern treeline boundaries, with the western and southern coasts having more palms, mangroves, and other tropics-acclimatized foliage. Ladoan horses are particularly prized, and many regions specialize in a particular breed of horse like the Waymark warhorses of Panetoth or the sleek Reach breeds of Hellsreach.
Natural Resources
Lados is a land rich in diverse resources. From the magicite crystals that grow around and below Sendrellar to the obsidian mines in Firemount to the bounty of the seas surrounding it, there are many useful and profitable resources to be harvested.
However, Lados is particularly known for two things in particular: the aforementioned magicite given there is nowhere else on Torar it can be obtained, and the continent's vast stretches of arable plains. With the exception of the Anauroch Desert that splits the continent, where the Infestation was the worst, all of the land between the Whitepeak Mountains in the north and the southern Towers in the south, over half a billion acres (close to a million square miles of land) can be used to grow crops and raise livestock.

Black Sail Coast
Northwest Lados, generally referred to as The North or the Black Sail Coast, is a region of wilderness, difficult winter weather, humanoid hordes, and barbarian tribes. It is a mostly untamed region that lies west of the Anauroch and north of the High Moor. The inhabitants of areas further south, in the Borderlands region of west Lados, describe this area in condescension as "the Savage North," which is a reference to a time when its inhabitants were less civilized. In spite of this reputation, the region is home to one of the greatest cities in all of Torar: Sendrellar, the Academy of Arcane Sciences. -
Lyre Valley
Westden rests in the center of the great Lyre Valley. At the northern end of the Lyre Valley, the land rises into the forested foothills of the Jotunhav Range Mountains. Therein lies hidden the lost Valley of the Shrines and the enigmatic Forest Kingdoms of the elves, and beyond them the infamous Stoneheart Mountain Dungeon. Situated throughout the Lyre Valley are various places for intrepid heroes to explore. The Citadel of Griffins and the Citadel of Ravens sit atop hills within view of the city proper. Nestled nearer to the city along the eastern slopes of the valley lies the great Vinewood estate and winery. The southwestern edge of the valley is broader and more gradual, opening to the tumultuous Borderlands, and to the southeast of the town is the rough-and-tumble, ever-changing Tent City. Several wilderness outposts also dot the Black Road connecting the cities of Kintalla and Sendrellar here, at Westden. -
