Alleria Windrunner was a Queen of
Lórien, and the mother of
Lireesa Windrunner. She trained Lireesa—her eldest child—to succeed her as a queen, as her own mother had taught her. Lireesa gave the name Alleria to her own eldest daughter in honor of her mother.
History
In 1574 BD, Alleria Windrunner, the once proud Queen of Lórien, faced the invasion of undead forces led by
Vecna. Legions of elven zombies, skeletons, and even undead beasts, including fearsome undead unicorns, marched relentlessly towards the capital of the kingdom. Alleria acted swiftly to defend her people and managed to save most of her kingdom, but the capital fell, and she was captured by Vecna himself.
Chained and tortured, Alleria's will was broken as Vecna corrupted her, forcing her to redirect the portal of her capital to lead to the shadowfell instead of the
Feywild. There, she was dragged to the dark echo plane as Vecna's forces marched on
Thar Amphala. Vecna swiftly conquered the city, constructing the ominous tower known as
Entropis.
Despite believing her life to be forfeit, Alleria's mastery of elven high
Magic caught Vecna's interest, sparing her life. She was eventually saved by her daughter, Lireesa Windrunner, and a holy army of warriors from the
Sisters of Selune who marched on Thar Amphala. Though Lireesa nearly perished in the hands of Vecna, the betrayal of his chief lieutenant allowed them to escape back to the prime material plane.
After being corrupted by Vecna, Alleria felt unfit to rule and relinquished the throne in 1564 BD, making way for her daughter, Lireesa, to become the new Queen of the kingdom of Lórien.
