Margaret is a lawful woman who prioritizes the townfolk's security under her care over anything else. However, as her relationship with Anadril Ilylinn blossomed, Margaret discovered another aspect of life and yearned for a peaceful life.

History

Margaret is the commander of the soldiers in Bistul, an isolated town within Orrin Empire. As the commander, she sends many soldiers on various missions, including an elf named Anadril Ilylinn, a survivor of an orc raid and a refugee hoping to help.   Margaret sends Anadril to investigate trouble around an ancient mine. Anadril reports back about kobolds living in the mines and a pact made with them to not disturb Bistul's people in exchange for being left alone in the abandoned mines.   One day, during a patrol, Anadril surprises a group of two orcs. She barely manages to kill them before they overpower her and quickly informs Margaret.   Margaret and Anadril are relatively close; Anadril respects her superior, and Margaret respects Anadril's work. When Anadril warns them of the orcs, likely scouts for a larger group, the threat is taken seriously, and Anadril is sent with a few soldiers on a scouting mission.   The scouting mission is a disaster. Only Anadril survives, barely managing to limp back to town, bloodied. Numerous orcs start to gather near the town, and within a few days, a full orc camp settles next to Bistul, beginning a siege. Margaret knows the town's fortifications won't last long— a week at best. Anadril asks to be allowed to act alone, planning to infiltrate the orc camp and create chaos before they can attack.   Margaret refuses, caring for Anadril and not wanting to endanger her. However, Anadril disobeys and sneaks off in the night. Margaret spots Anadril escaping too late to stop her and waits for her return to scold her. When Anadril returns, the flames rising from the orc camp signal her success, and Margaret thanks Anadril for her bravery.   Both Anadril and Margaret know the orcs will return, but the victory offers a well-deserved rest. Anadril uses the occasion to ask Margaret on a date. The two women, enjoying drinks at the inn, forget about the hierarchy and become lovers.   A few days later, Anadril leaves for the Highlander Mountains to seek a rare weapon, while Margaret prepares the town's forces for the ongoing Orc War.   Anadril returns weeks later, much to Margaret's relief. However, she brings back a white orc, whom Margaret promptly throws into prison. Anadril pleads his case, explaining that the Orog helped her in her quest.   Anadril also confesses that she cheated on Margaret with the white orc. Furious, Margaret refuses to release the orc, seeing him as partly responsible for Anadril's betrayal.   Despite Anadril's sincere apologies, Margaret cannot forgive her yet and focuses on preparing for the next orcish assault on Bistul. Reports from the Hesian Order indicate a larger orc band ready to storm the city.   Finally, the orc forces arrive. Three orcish shamans circle the town, chanting and casting a weakening spell. Margaret leads her soldiers in a charge against the orcs as they open the gate for Anadril to face the shamans.   Margaret and her soldiers kill countless orcs, especially as their forces return once the shamans are defeated. Soon, the Death roar of the demonic commander echoes across the battlefield, and the orcs start to flee, with Margaret chasing and killing them.   After the battle, Margaret forgives Anadril for her infidelity and informs her of a high-ranking position offered to her in the empire's army to continue leading the forces against the orcs. Anadril accepts and becomes an important commander in the Orc War.   When the war finally ends, Anadril returns, asking Margaret to marry her. The two settle in a small countryside house, far from the conflicts of the city.
