Government
Muremia is a name given to a number of martial clans sharing the same customs and cultures. The clans of Muremia operate as martial clans. Select elite warriors dedicate themselves to mastering martial arts and take vows to protect the villages and territories under their clan's care. These warriors are also tasked with overseeing the development of the villages they supervise.
While conflicts between these martial clans often arise due to ideological differences, the understanding is that only the warriors involved would be directly affected. However, in practice, civilian casualties do occur despite the intended separation between warrior and civilian life.
Culture
Renowned for their wisdom, patience, and introspective nature, the elephantine beings of Muremia possess an inherent ability to meditate and strike a balance between good and evil that appears almost innate to outsiders.
Muremia architecture is fabled through the realms, and Muremians architect are renowned as tireless, patient artisans gifted with stonework.
Muremians believe in the value of community and life. Muremians believe that the members of a group have a responsibility to look out for each other. Once they have bonded with other individuals in any capacity, Muremians devote themselves to maintaining that bond. They coordinate their efforts and are often willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the group. They expect reciprocal loyalty and commitment from the other members of their communities and can be severe in their disappointment when their trust is betrayed.
Names
A
Loxodon’s name includes subtle tones, produced in a loxodon’s resonant nasal chambers, that indicate status, family connection, and community role. Since most non-loxodons can’t distinguish these underlying tones, let alone produce them, loxodons often translate them into titles, such as Hierarch, Revered, Grandmother, Healer, or Saint, when interacting with other races.

History
Nikoom, the Loxodon Protector of Muremia, an ambassador of Muremia in
Fountainport, found himself troubled by the mysterious purple haze that had enveloped
Pandaros. This eerie mist, which spread across the island, transformed creatures into twisted, mindless monsters. As a protector of his people, Nikoom knew he had to take action. He dispatched troops into the haze, hoping to uncover the secrets behind it. However, those who ventured too far returned corrupted and insane, their minds shattered by the horrors they witnessed within the mist.
Desperate for answers, Nikoom offered a generous reward to anyone brave enough to venture into the haze and bring back information about its origin and nature. This call attracted a group of four adventurers—
Alcadeias,
Cyria,
Shari, and
Vellia—who took up the challenge and plunged into the fog-covered region, seeking both answers and the reward promised by Nikoom.
As the adventurers delved deeper into the mist, they encountered countless dangers, including the corrupting influence of the
Purple Isana crystals. Shari, a fellow Loxodon, was particularly affected by the corruption, carrying a chunk of the crystal that slowly began to taint her mind and body. This corruption eventually became so severe that the group was forced to confront the
Pale Man, a
Devil who held a cure. After a fierce battle, the adventurers defeated the Pale Man and secured the cure for Shari, who endured immense pain as the purple blood drained from her veins.
With Shari mostly healed, the group returned to Fountainport to claim their reward from Protector Nikoom. True to his word, Nikoom generously compensated them and invited the adventurers to his home for further discussion. As an ambassador of Muremia, Nikoom resided in the embassy in Fountainport, where he revealed more information about the mysterious haze. He spoke of the Mistborn, strange humanoid creatures seemingly immune to the mist's corrupting influence, and mentioned that one such creature was being held in the embassy’s underground chamber for interrogation.
Nikoom allowed the adventurers to interrogate the Mistborn, and they learned about a powerful entity known as the "God of the Mist," believed to be the source of the haze and its corrupting power. Intrigued by this revelation and tempted by the promise of further rewards as Nikoom offered 10,000 gp, the adventurers agreed to continue their mission and delve even deeper into the mist, seeking out this god and the truth behind the haze.
As the group ventured further into the heart of the mist, they encountered new challenges and adversaries, reporting to Nikoom thanks to a sending stone. The adventurers finally returned to fountainport, having defeated the god of the mist, Cyria died in the battle.
Nikoom, and every habitants of Pandaros noticed the haze beginning to dissipate over the following days, and soon, all traces of the Purple Isana, except for the Pale Man’s mansion and the corrupted creatures, were gone.
After these events, Shari returned to Muremia and rejoined her kin. Her adventures had granted her the strength to confront her people, resolving the long-standing conflict with her clan. Over time, Shari earned great esteem among her people. Her reputation as the hero of Pandaros preceded her, and she was eventually appointed as a Protector of Muremia by popular demand, Nikoom finally retiring.
