Tanglewood Wildspeaker

Tanglewood Wildspeaker is one of the rare people that can be called a friend of the dryads, and a very powerful druid, soon to be archdruid. Daughter of Dael Wildspeaker and Lila Wildspeaker

History

Childhood

born in a poor family in village near the Wood of the Vale, she grow with the love her mother, Lila Wildspeaker and a rather indifferent father. Quickly learning how to help on the farm, Tanglewood became a farmgirl, helping her dad,Dael Wildspeaker, in his duty, but the man was rude, and prone to aggression. Tanglewood quickly learned that the hard way.   She started to wander behind the fields at night, enjoying those moments of solitude. A relative solitude, as the house cat was always coming with her, quickly Tanglewood realized she could communicate with the cats, and with all the animals. Training this gift every night, she discovered many other abilities, she was a spellcaster and had an influence over nature itself.   Little did she knew, those night escapes, while unknown to her family, were bringing the attention of a local monster. Her magical ability drawing the magic hungry monster closer and closer. One day, her family and her woke up to their field, ravaged and destroyed, another, their well had been crushed, the day after, their sheep were dead.   Tanglewood's father, didn't knew what to do, what little they had was getting destroyed every night, and with great despair, he went to the Wood of the Vale, asking for the dryads help, they agreed, but asked for a price, the WIldspeaker next born would be a daughter, and would belong to the dryads. Dael easily agreed to that, and the dryad protected the WIldspeaker farm of this monster, and of the many other Tanglewood power was attracting.

Little Sister

When Tanglewood was 24, she was told her family was soon to grow, as her mother was pregnant. Lila and Tanglewood didn't know of the Dael's deal and were incredibly happy of the news. The baby's birth bringing a horizon of possibility for the family.   The dryads came back and took their reward, Tanglewood little sister, Rosa Wildspeaker, the baby was barely a few months old, and Tanglewood rushed to rescue her, she knew her family was in debt to the dryad, but she couldn't let her little sister to be abandoned like this. When she arrived at the house, it was too late, her mother was crying the loss of her child, and her father was beating her for crying.   Tightening her fist in anger, she yelled, extending her arm toward her father, and letting her power express itself. The ground bursted, vines and thick roots rushing toward Tanglewood's father, restraining him. The young elf took her mother, and both of them ran away to the forest, looking for Rosa.   Soon, the two reached the forest, exhausted, and hurt from this long marathon, the two elves were determined to bring back the baby. Sadly, their hopes were quickly shattered, with the arrow of the dryads. Legend says none enter the woods without the dryads knowing, it seems like this day again, the legend was true. The group of dryads, and the baby were facing them, ready to fight.   Tanglewood started to speak, telling the dryad all about her cruel father, about the fate of this child, and her mother's love for her sister. But the dryad told her the truth, the whole truth, about her power, about the monster, and about Daels deal. She realized the dryads were nothing like thieves or kidnappers. Her father was the only real monster, and the dryads had helped her family, and, with the poor state of the place she called home, maybe the baby would be better with the dryads.   Coming to this conclusion with tears flowing down her cheek, she started to bargain for a new deal. She wanted the right for her sister to keep her memories intact, and for her to come and see her as she please. The dryad, sensible to her gift for druidic power, knew the elf was soon to be a protector of those lands and trusted her to take the correct decision, agreeing to those conditions.   Tanglewood and Lila embraced the baby one last time, drowing it in their love.

New Home

Now fully aware of her power, and unwilling to go back to her old house, she asked her mother to leave. Of course, Lila refused, she wouldn't let her daughter alone so young, no, she would come with her. The two moved to the Elven Forest where Tanglewood took the role of the local herbalist despite her young age. Yearly, her mother and herself would go back to the Wood of the Vale to see Rosa Wildspeaker. During those trips, Tanglewood and her sister hooned their skill as druid together, her little sister apparently inheriting the same gift for druidic magic.   After a few dozen years, Tanglewood was recognized as a young, but very capable druid. And, after years of back and forth on the dryads territory, she was known among the dryads too as their friend. When Tanlgewood finally reached adulthood, she talked to her mother and her sister, she was to go on a trip, a trip alone, to find herself, and to sync with her power.   Now an adult, Lila agree to let her go, and Rosa made her promise to come back.

The journey

Tanglewood didn't had a clear goal, but she could feel a calling, a calling from nature herself to explore and go out. she ventured north, and met Broll, which she recall as a "wise but old-school" druid. following the coast, she came back to Megima where Queen Manael herself recognized as a powerful druid, and most importantly, as a valued ally thanks to her connection and relation with the dryads.   Bolstered by her journey, and the encounter she had made along the way, she came back to the Wood of the Vale, where the dryad promised that she would soon be an archdruid.
