Uldrak

Uldrak, once a Fire Giant, ventured into the Seven Hells to slay the Archdevil Elise and win glory for his Deity, Surtur. Defeated and cursed by Elise, he was transformed into a spined devil and now hides inside the helmet he once wore. Bitter and isolated for millennia, Uldrak has resigned himself to surviving in the Seven Hells rather than escaping. His fire Giant heritage is evident in his voice, and he often switches to speaking Giant. His prolonged isolation has unhinged his mind, leading him to argue with himself frequently. Uldrak resides in Uldrak’s Grave in Invidia, where he forlornly plots to restore his true form, which requires spilling some of Elise’s blood on Invidia's ground.

Characteristics

Mental traits

Uldrak is a bitter creature who barely remembers his past. Long ago, he learned how to remove his curse, but the solution was so beyond him that he consigned himself to failure. Now, he’s more interested in scrabbling to survive than trying to escape the Seven Hells.   Uldrak’s fire giant heritage still lingers in his voice. He understands all languages, and when he speaks, he randomly switches language to Giant. Millennia of isolation have unhinged his mind, so he argues with himself often, even in front of strangers.

Lair

Uldrak reside in Uldrak’s Grave in Invidia.

History

The fire giant Uldrak quested into the Seven Hells to slay Elise and win glory for his deity, Surtur, but he was beaten handily by the archdevil. The giant wasn’t slain; instead, Elise cursed him for his impudence by transforming him into a spined devil. This wretched creature now hides inside the helmet that he once wore. For millennia, Uldrak has dwelled in this spot, forlornly plotting to restore his true form.   To regain his true form, Uldrak must spill some of Elise’s blood on the ground of Invidia.
