Arnrock, The

Old Smokey

The Arnrock, also known as Arnrock Island and Old Smokey, is an active volcano and the largest island in the Lake of Steam.

Modifications to the actual lore include:

405 after the Great War:

The volcano violently explodes, burning most of Arn (a small city housing barely 100 halflings).

407 after the Great War:

Arn is rebuilt and halflings return.

1405 after the Great War:

The volcano erupts again, destroying Arn and killing all of its residents. The city of Arn has not been rebuilt as of today.

1444 after the Great War:

A group of archaeologists led by the young and promising Dirk Von Diamond sets foot on the island with the hopes of finding an ancient artifact, the Shield of Pelor. Delving deep into the caldera of the volcano, the group eventually finds the object, stuck into a mysterious shard of ice. As Von Diamond picks up the artifact, the ice turns into smoke, and said smoke seeps through every openings of the young elf's body. The change is unseen by his group, by immediate. Turning on his party, and incidentally on the woman he loved: Tina Spelunky, he escapes the island with his trusty friend Vittorio Mariotta and his jackal (a druid cursed by Baba Yaga), leaving his former party for dead. No one will ever know that this was but the effects of a curse, the last trick from the Elder God Nezrul who had, at some point, tried to steal the shield for himself but couldn't.
