Elturel

Elturel is a city-state lying on the River Chionthar in the Western Heartlands. It is notably known for its mounted defenders, the Hellridersand for having disappeared from the material plane for about 50 years.

Modifications to the actual lore include:

1435 after the Great War:

The city of Elturel is brought down into the depths of Avernus. This is later revealed to be because of a deal that the former leader Thavius Kreeg made with an entity of the Nine Hells. He offered the help of his people and of his Hellriders to that entity for a total of 50 years, in exchange of the eradication of the vampires that kept raiding his city.

1485 after the Great War:

Elturel is returned from Avernus back to its rightful place. Thavius Kreeg, who had fled the city before its descent into Avernus, is hunted for months, until being found. The, now very old and frail man, is brought back to Elturel and executed on the stairs of his former palace, but only after all of his descendants are killed in front of his eyes.

The city of Elturel now carries an unrelenting hate for Tieflings and other creatures of infernal nature.
