Chapter 3: Verse 12 - “Read it and Weep…Seriously…Just Weep” Report

General Summary

The party entered the final challenge from the painting security measures that have been presented in order to enter the Cobalt Soul Archives Restricted Section. A lava filling room presented itself in which the party had to traverse furnishings in order to get through the room and not be completely consumed by the rising lava. With a few burns, the party was able to get through the dangers and reach the other side. Rabbie, however, while trying to break open a highly enchanted lock - Rabbie’s sword broke and a huge piece of the blade fell into the lava. The enchantment on the blade kept it from sinking and being consumed by the lava which Rabbie took it upon himself to dive into the lava and retrieve the blade but got a serious burn from his jump into the lava to grab the sword and then get out by the door. His burns weakened his body but he was able to survive and get out. In the hallway, the big door finally opened up and revealed a giant empty room. The party entered the room and a voice called out “Face the foe that felled you before” and the enchantment was able to detect that in the past a Beholder almost killed them all very quickly and thus the spell created one to stop them. 
The Beholder’s first move fired random shots of arcane energy that caused some restraining on Ignia that she eventually fought off before turning her to stone and a ray of disintegration energy zapped away the rest of Rabbie’s vitality and turned him into dust, thus ending his life. The party had to quickly come up to new tactics on how to defeat its foe as leaving the room caused some of his wounds to heal through its enchantment. With some quick thinking, Bumble, Ignia and Blovik Griblesnit was able to destroy the creature but at the cost of another party member who turned to dust as well; Ignia. Luckily, Blovik was infused with wild magic energy and thus at the end of the fight expelled the energy built within him and directed it towards the dust of Ignia whose body was able to be reincarnated beyond the extent of the spell and become reborn in a new body of a gnome.    With the lost of Rabbie and the strange new look to Ignia. It dons upon Bumble that after the loss of Rabbie and the events that have taken place - He is the Last Guardian of the Glade.
