Mizzana T'Sarran
Mizzana is a drow elf who, as a young girl, fled with her family out of Menzoberranzan and to the surface world of Toril, to the city of Waterdeep. For the first decade, Mizzana and her family lived in the Field Ward. Her father, Dhuulyn T'Sarran, found work in the The Burnt Inn where she met a human boy her same age named Fryd Wrenbrook. The two learned how to read and write common together. She taught him her native tongue and drow sign language and he taught her how to be a thief.
Even after her mother, Cazbrina T'Sarran, found a well-paying job in the city and moved their family to the North Ward, Mizzana and Fryd stayed close. Often the pair would perform low-stakes heists and other petty crimes together. Mizzana found that she was in love with Fryd although she would never admit it.
It was not until Fryd became infatuated with another young woman, Loraleth Spikely, that their friendship began to wane. Fryd started avoiding Mizzana and turning down jobs claiming that he wanted to "go straight". Mizzana correctly suspects that Fryd's change in priorities is primarily due to his budding relationship with Loraleth. Six months ago Fryd took a job working for the private detective, Viktor Trench. Since then, Mizzana and Fryd have had no contact although she has kept up with his whereabouts and activities, occasionally spying on her old friend when possible.
A few months back, around winter's end, Mizzana was approached by a curious drow by the name of Jarlaxle Baenre, who runs a mercenary guild Bregan D'arthe. Although Mizzana has not accepted the offer to officially join Bregan D'arthe, she has accepted work from them. Her most recent assignment is to recruit Fryd either as an official member of Bregan D'arthe or at least a freelance agent.

Motivation
She wants to be her own person. She's torn on accepting the offer from Bregan D'arthe, but doesn't want to lose herself in what they want, so she keeps accepting freelance work from them until she can make up her mind.
Even though her heart is broken, she still cares for her friend and keeps a watch on him to make sure he stays safe, because if he were to be hurt, she isn't sure her heart would make it.
Still checks in with Lars Wrenbrook ("Mr. Wrenbrook") at The Burnt Inn from time to time. to make sure he is still doing okay and to casually check on Fryd even though she doesn't really want Fryd to know she's still around. And she doesn't care. At all.
