Session 65: Cersei and Slim Report

General Summary

4.5 Hour Roleplay and battle session. 5:30 PM to 10:00P

Breakfast at Cersei’s

Lucky cast dream on Cersei giving her a nightmare. As a result, she didn’t sleep and woke up with a horrible headache (and some psychic damage.) Rolen woke up first and let Constance into the magnificent mansion. Constance was amazed by everything. She found Lucky and led him to breakfast holding his hand. Alfred made breakfast and Cersei, Constance and Rheagar were all there.

Cersei told the children that she and their new friends have some business to take care of. Constance had Lucky promise to keep her mommy safe and Lucky agreed. The children finished eating and Cersei (looking tired) asked for details of the Triskin and his friend. They explained that the Marut is capable of planar travel. Cersei took Jaquette to a spell book and showed her the spell “Extradimensional interference.” Cersei explained that the spell can prevent the Triskin from escaping magically.

They discussed battle plans and locations and selected a small field next to a mountain where they could lure the Marut and the Triskin. Lucky went and cast Contact other plane and asked a few questions. He learned that Slim can cast magic, the dragon should not betray them but does not trust them and that it’s going to rain somewhere today.

Space Mountain

Cersei grew impatient and told the party she wanted to go and kill the Triskin. The party agreed and she led them back through the lair to her treasure room. Cersei turned into her dragon form and allowed the party to crawl on to her back. She provided them ropes to which they could hold while riding on her back. She then used her fire breath to open a secret passageway into a dark tunnel. With the party on her back, she flew through the darkness, straight down into a ravine, through a dark tunnel and then up another ravine. She flew over a ledge that was filled with Kobolds who all bowed as she flew over them. She then flew out of the cavern through a waterfall. Fredrik looked back and saw the waterfall looked exactly like the painting he saw in the first treasure room. The party all felt different as their magical items had all lost their magical features. She told them not to worry; once they dried off, they would function again.

The Ambush

After a few hours, they came to the mountainside she had previously described. Cersei, Lucky and Tyrus went to the cave entrance on a large ledge about 60 up the side of the mountain. Jaquette drew a large rune on the ground and cast her Extradimensional Interference spell in the open field next to the ledge. Tyrus hid in plane sight. Once Jaquette finished her spell Tyrus cast plant growth to help cover it up. The rest of the party prepared to meet Triskin and his companions. Cersei told the party, to stay clear once the Triskin heads into the area as she planned on engulfing the area in fire. Fredrik and Jaquette started playing in the pile of gold. Anna sent slim a message and Slim arrived with his Marut shortly thereafter.

Slim, Anna and the Marut walked towards Fredrik, Jaquette and the pile of gold. Cersei stepped out as a dragon and breathed fire breath on Slim, Anna and the Marut. Slim evaded the fire and shot daggers from his arm at the Dragon and then told the Marut “Get us out of here.” Fredrik ran in and poured his dust of sneezing and coughing on Slim. Slim used his legendary resistance to avoid the effects. The party realized Slim was more powerful than they had thought. The Marut grabbed slim and attempted to plane shift but it failed; Jaquette’s spell worked.

Anna focused her attacks on Slim. Tyrus, from the ledge in the prone position got a bead on Slim and opened fire with the laser rifle. Rolen focused his attacks on Slim. Lucky commanded Slim to “Halt” and Slim stopped moving. Cersei flew down with a frightening roar but Slim was not frightened. Cersei ripped into Slims flesh. Seeing Slim close to death, Fredrik turned to the Marut and started attacking. Anna stunned Slim and then ripped off his cloak of displacement. A blazing edict of light blasted out from the Marut’s chest stunning Fredrik and knocked Slim and Anna unconcious. Cersei turned her attention to the Marut and started ripping it apart and told the party to stand clear! Jaquette ran to Anna to heal her and the Marut pounded her as she passed by. Jaquette brought Anna to consciousness and Lucky turned Anna into a giant Ape. The Marut again used its blazing edict and everyone again took radiant damage but only Fredrik was stunned this time.

Rolen laid into the Marut with his magical attacks. Tyrus continued to fire his laser rifle, Lucky fired his fire bolt. Cersei nudged Slim next to the Marut and lit them both up with her fire breath. Slim was turned to ash and the Marut looked close to death. Jaquette finished off the Marut with Blight!

The Aftermath

Rolen spit on Slim’s ashes and Provided Cersei with his skull. Anna collected all the magical items from Slim including +1 leather armor, a Cloak of displacement, Bracers of Flying Daggers, a Ring of Truth telling, a +1 Rapier, a portable hole, and a Wand of Web. Anna and Tyrus pulled some armor off the Marut and Anna retrieved the Inevitable stone and presented it to Cersei. Cersei saw it was beautiful and accepted it. Rolen asked Cersei what task she had in mind for them. She explained that her husband was entrusted with protecting the hilt of the god destroyer and she would appreciate it being returned. She said if they did that, she would let them have the remaining magical items in her chest. She offered to take the party back to her place for the night. The party agreed and she flew them back to her place. The party divided up the items they had found.

They party spent some time with the children and then went to the village. Lucky stayed behind to work on something. The party observed how Cersei interacted with the villagers and were very impressed at her charity and how the villagers seemed to appreciate her. She seemed to provide a tremendous amount of financial support to the locals. She obtained some delicious ale from a local brew master. She bid the party a good night and thanked them for their assistance in avenging her husband. Fredrik spent the evening with an elderly man named Bjorn Ruldivi. The party decided that the next day they would be heading to Waterdeep.

Goodbye Fredrik

In the morning Rolen found Rheagar and had a quiet conversation with him. Lucky came out and everyone saw two of them. Lucky explained that he had created a duplicate Lucky, an Avatar of sorts. Fredrik came back and spoke with Cersei. He explained that he’s looking to start a new tavern and would like to stay and help build up the town. Cersei said that she would like to see the brew master expand his business. Fredrik explained his decision to his friends and there was much sadness.

Fredrik gave Zyark’s hammer to the party and asked them to return it to Zyark and get Fredrik’s stone from Zyark. Jaquette cast “Awaken” on Chipper and left him with Fredrik. They party shook hands, hugged, and said fair well to Fredrik and Chipper. Jaquette cast Transport via Plants and they walked through portal and arrived behind Black Staff Tower in Waterdeep.
