He once was a captain of an army until one day his whole army alongside his husband and the rest of his family disappeared. Now he found his way into Barovia to find his lover and get revenge on the man that did this to him.

Personal history

Zachriel used to be a trusted subordinate to Strahd von Zarovich back when he was still human. Zachriel basically served him as his right hand man as a captain of the aasimar soldiers. He made sure barovia was protected at all costs in order to make a heaven on earth. Besides his role of captain of the army he lived a peaceful life with a man named Xavier (his fiancé). When Barovia was almost done they decided to move in and live out the rest of their lives there, but something odd happened.   When Zachriel was moving the last pieces of furniture to their new home, it disappeared along with Xavier and their new home. Zachriel thought he was lost and searched around but quickly found out the rumors he’d been hearing were true. He heard people talk about Strahd von Zarovich planning to take Barovia and make it his personal playground but he’d never imagine being betrayed like that so he didn’t believe it.
After years of collecting information about what happened he learned about what happened to it and found a Vistana, Barry, to take him there. Filled with anger and a thirst for vengeance he entered Barovia and is ready to make Strahd von Zarovich pay for what he’s done to him and all the others Barovians that he had protected for this long.
Although he’s still really worried about Xaviers’ safety he can’t contain his hatred against strahd for betraying/hurting him and everyone in his country for his personal gain. So after hearing about some magic items being able to be used against Strahd von Zarovich and possibly even kill him he’s being travelling around Barovia in search for those items in order to face Strahd von Zarovich and make him pay for what he did.
