Daran Edermath was a retired half-elf adventurer who dwelt in Phandalin Daran had silver hair and was over a hundred years old. He was a retired member of the Order of the Gauntlet, but still kept in touch with them. His connections secretly made him one of the most powerful folk in Phandalin, if he cared to bring them to bear Daran was quick to help, and was happy to speak and trade with newcomers to the town of Phandalin, sometimes offering them a place to stay in his apple orchard However, he was slow to put his faith in strangers, and any hint of underhandedness could forever lose his trust. He preferred to avoid politics. Daran managed the Edermath Orchard in Phandalin. He grew apples and produced cider, juice, and other goods to be sold to visiting merchants and local businesses. He had a habit of hiring out-of-work miners, making him a popular figure in town. In his earlier years, Edermath was an active agent of the Order of the Gauntlet, quelling evil throughout the Dragon Coast. Daran retired to open his apple orchard in Phandalin, though he still kept watch for evildoers in the region. and maintained contact with some of the more powerful members of his order. the retired half-elf became increasingly worried about the havoc the Redbrands were causing in Phandalin. Anyone who spoke out or acted against them would be killed, and their family kidnapped. Daran wished that a group of adventurers would rise up and sever the head of the bandit organization by killing its leader, Glasstaff. He would tell willing adventurers that the bandits' safe house was under Tresendar Manor, and that they spent much time at the Sleeping Giant tavern.
3/4/1:
Daren while picking at apples sees a Dwarf cleric approaching him Amber Sweetgrass proceeds to visit Daren, at his orchards, and he tells her about the group of bandits in town known as the Redbrands, He insists that the townmaster Webster is a coward for not intervening and reveals the leader of the Redbrand known as Glasstaff, and the location of the Redbrands known as Tresendar Manor. Daren hopes to see her take down the redbrands and if they succeed he would be happy to recommend her to the Order of the Guantlet. Daren in the mean time tends to his orchard and tries to enjoy his retired life.
3/7/1:
The whole party and town celebrate as Amber, Gogo Thornt Isac Gringle and Sildar Hallwinter were able to best the Redbrands. Daren is still upset that Iarno, Glasstaff, was able to escape but enjoyed the party anyway as he knew Amber did really well. Daren tells Amber to meet up with him the next day at his orchard.
3/8/1:
Amber goes and visits Daren and he tells her the Order of the Gauntlet. He pushes her to pursue the order as it is a great fit for her. Amber agrees and wants to join. Daren says that he can put in the recommendation but wants one more thing from her to prove herself. He directs her to the Old Owl Well where he heard rumors of a Red Wizard causing havoc with the undead, he wants her to go deal with that and once she does he will submit his letter of recommendation, she agrees and leaves.
3/15/1:
Daren was peacefully picking at his apples when he turned around and saw a huge fire. His orchard rests at the top of the highest point in Phandalin on a hill so he witnessed everything. He picked up his blade and tried all he could to defend the orchard and whatever he could from the village. He fought relentlessly until there were only a straggles left.
3/17/1:
The battle died down as only a couple of straggler goblins remained, the Attack on Phandalin was over and the old Edermath took a rest and ate some of his apples, his orchard was left untouched. As he rests he sees Amber bruised and battle damaged. She helped save the inn and protected the people of Phandalin as much as she could. Daren saw a true noble warrior in her. She also told Daren about Old Owl Well and how it was complete and the red wizard Kost was slain. He rewarded her with the rank of Chevall and officially recommended her to the Order of the Guantlet.
3/20/1:
Daren helps with all the villagers and attends the funeral of Quelline Alderleaf. He aids with the rest of the rebuilt of Phandalin.
4/1/1:
Daren edermath is able to help with cleanup of Barthrens Provisions and continues to work hard.
4/3/1:
Amber informs edermath about how she drove away a dragon with her party and freed Thundertree. Edermath was impressed and put a word in with the Gauntlet however to speak to the council about allying with the Order of the Guantlet Amber must go to Neverwinter, or Waterdeep.

4/16/1:
Daren Edermath goes to Pippy and tells him how he looked up to his mother and promised her to take care of you one day when he inevitably wanted to become an adventurer. Daren trains Pippy in the art of sword combat and invites him to live with him.
4/18/1:
Edermath introcues Narth and has both apprentices fight each other. Pippy almost kills Narth and pisses off edermath as Pippy was clearly overpowered.
4/19/1:
Edermath contacts someone in Neverwinter and tells them to enlist Pippy and Narth in the Faerun Warriors tournament. They will start in tier Z.
4/22/1:
Edermath informs Pippy and Nars to start training as the tournament may only be a qualifier to get into tier Z but they should still train really hard.
4/30/1:
Edermath watches Pippy successfully go to Z Rank in the Tournament of Power.
5/3/1:
Pippy gets back to Phandalin and that is when Edermath congratulates Pippy for Getting thorugh and invites him into the Order of the Guantlet. Pippy accepts.
5/8/1:
Daren Edermath gets told by Linnene that her last shipment of equipment got robbed again and it a begginer adventurer group got killed on the way there. Sister Garele got upset at that, her apprentice Lily was there on the shipment. She was not found dead at scene. Garele and Linene pleaded with Daren to help out and figure out wherre the shipment has gone too. Daren reluctantly agrees but only because this will help to develop Pippy. They go and stop Zerod from taking the shipment. Due to the heroics of Pippy Zerod is captured and taken in for questioning.
5/22/1:
After some time in jail, Pippy goes to visit Maldron, Pippy does not yet know about Maldron how he is not there anymore and it is actually Zerod, Pippy wants to talk to Maldron alone but he is not allowed by his mentor Edermath as he suspects something wrong is happening with Maldron. Pippy, Maldron, Sister Garele, and Edermath and Maldrons Worg Kir go and look for Lily, Sister Garele's Apprentice who is in Cragmaw castle. Maldron asks Pippy to move ahead to speak to Maldron quietly. They speak together but he reveals that in reality Maldron is no more and it is Zerod and he will help them but the body is his. Pippy, Zerod, Garele, Kir, and Edermath arrive at Cragmaw castle and Pippy hides attached to Kir on his underbelly. They head into cragmaw castle and Pippy assasinates one hobgoblin who noticed him. They go on ahead as they see a bloodbath. Sister Garele mutilated all the goblins. Lily was their raped and tortured, Lily is tramuatized and the party leave. Sister Garele is furious and kills multiple more goblins, she is convinced by Edermath that they can go back to slay the goblins. She agrees and they head back to Phandalin.
5/28/1:
Pippy, Edermath, Maldron and a Bounty hunter named Curtis go to finish off the job and capture Yimeek. They head back to Cragmaw castle and they go to slay everyone there. Edermath keeps Kir outside as they patrol the area. The rest of them inclusing Pippy, Maldron and Curtis sneak inside. They head to a prisoners room where they see Nars. Pippy is surprised and Nars said that he heard of Goblins raiding the area and also heard that Sister Garele posted a bounty on the head of a Goblin there, he also wanted to prove that he is worthy of Edermath's tutollage. so he had to go and kill it. Nars joins them. The party head in deeper where they fight Lhupo. Lhupo is disapointed in Maldron and they fight. Lhupo is deadly and has the party essentially running away but what they really did was drive Lhupo out of his lair and as lhupo shot a fire bolt at Maldron, Maldron caught it and shot it hard back at Lhupo decimating him. The party find out Yimeek went somewhere into Triboar Trail.
6/4/1:
Edermath invites over an ex adventurer during his hayday to train Pippy, which his name is Luuko Cholupo. He is a human rouge who is about 65 years old. He comes over and Edermath tells him to train pippy. Pippy accepts the training from Luuko Cholupo.
6/9/1:
Edermath thought he saw a pixie while shopping near the Inn, he wonders if what he saw was real. He thought he just mustve been seeing things so ignored it and left and continued his day. (he saw Marvin)
6/16/1:
Edermath wants to investigate these magical beings he is witnessing, he hears that an elemental spawned in, he spots a sort of water elemental not sure it is one but he begins in combat one on one with this thing, it is hard fought and it ended up giving him frostbite on his whole left shoulder. He did cause some damage to it. Suddenly out of the tunnel was Zerod, Zerod masked as Maldron told Edermath he can control the elemental and try to calm it down. Maldron shows he can be trusted by freezing himself and freezing up the wounds of the elemental. Edermath lets him do whatever, and eventually Maldron does calm down the elemental which is a ice dancer elemental.
6/24/1:
Daren Finally heals up completely from his injuries and continues his work in the orchard
7/11/1:
He finds a portrait from the old trescendar manor to a right buyer it is worth fortunes. He wants to get Pippy to help save keep him to Neverwinter where he will sell this on Auction. on the way there they encounter a troll, him and pippy fight really hard, edermath sacrifices himself for Pippy. Edermath dies giving Pippy his portrait to sell and grow his farm. He tells pippy about a scroll where details where his father is, he tells Pippy to train hard and perishes.
