Factions

Factions are like political parties, religious organizations, or secret societies.
When creating your character, you can choose to be part of a faction, but a background story must be relevant to the story of joining this faction. Players can choose a connection to one of five factions:

• The Harpers
• The Order of the Gauntlet
• The Emerald Enclave
• The Lords' Alliance
• The Zhentarim

You can become part of other factions along the way, however, you must generally prove your worth and dedication to joining the faction.
There do exist other minor factions that aren't predominant in certain regions of Faerûn , and some are not even common on the planet of Troil at all.
These five world-known factions don't at all times work together, as they always have different goals in mind. However, history has shown that when faced with a great threat, they can work together to oppose the forces that threaten them.
