Session 2: Arr! Where's my Obunga Report

General Summary

Date: 1st Twegendas Duskall Awaking in the morning the group come out from their cove, as they take in the morning sun and prepare to head to Masincast they hear the calls of a young male shouting "Poto!" It is shown to be his younger brother Chimwala he explains how his family is worried about him and the group he has fallen in with but wishes him the best and warns him of the bounties now on their heads that are to be sent out, he hugs his brother and gifts him a healing potion before heading out. The group make their way to Masincast, stopping some ways outside of the gate. They note the guards on the gate doing inspections on those entering into the town; they check to see if they can enter any other way but see only the option of swimming into the sea and around the wall. They decide to disguise themselves and attempt to head in this way, Brandon Stephens taking charge of the conversation with the guards giving his full and true name and stating he was there for the Obunga’s revenge. The guards look him and the party over, recognising who they are but allow them into the town stating they are to behave well. As they enter they see gallows to their right detailing the upcoming execution of Brandon Stephens crewmates; Gwyneth Jones, Patrick Barkley, and Krump. They split up with Brandon and Pto heading to the docks to check out the Obunga and the other three heading into the market to sell their jewellery and gems from the previous bandit camp. Edgeathor, Jay and Tim enter the market, gaining a total 25gp for their goods which was promptly spent on, 3 healing potions, and a longsword. Poto and Brandon finding the ship are making their way back when they notice a drawn bounty poster for Jay Dawg, at the same time Edgeathor sees the same bounties for the crew on a board, gathering up they quickly meet at the Broken Wheel, they run into Edward “The Drought'' England who remarks about Brandon's loss of ship as they’re talking two pirates approach and request that Brandon and his crew come with them, they lead the way and are ushered into the back which opens up as a large storage room. Atop the rafters will be Xorm who will detail how he led the crew to Gula where they ransacked a village and temple there and stole an artefact of the Lucavi. He mocks Brandon who fled in fear of Davy Jones but with the power of Adrammelech the Wroth, his fury and power will allow him to rule the waves as Lord of the Storm. He instructed Yian to deal with the group leaving her and 6 other pirates to take care of them, once she was beaten the group learned from her that Xorm is operating out of an island to the south that was a refuge to the Tieflings, he banished them all back to the mainland instead of killing them as a favour to Yuan, the island can only be accessed if they have a sigil coin which she saw Edgeathor did indeed have
The group was now exhausted but came up with a plan to deal with Xorm. Edgeathor disguised himself as the now deceased Yuan and early next morning planned to meet up with Xorm, the rest of the group would speak to the criminal organisation which operated in this city known as The shroud.
Date: 1st Wedlas Duskall The main group heads out to meet The Shroud they are ushered in upon showing a Siren’s ring they meet with Sebastian and the head guard Brock. Sebastian comes to an agreement to lend 6 men to cause a distraction at the time of the execution at the cost of 25gp. The party head out and make their way to the Barracks to speak with the General Ido Westcaller, they meet with him but do not agree to his terms of the execution being delayed until completion of a delivery request to Dunham for new guards at which point their bounties would be removed.
They leave and make their way to speak to the governor Lady Rin Orbcleaver, they happen to run into her wife Kera in the market and by a good deed from the paladin he offers to carry her shopping home and she accepts, she invites them due to her trusting nature and their friendly demeanour toward her. Rin descends down from the stairs of her manor confused at the guests present, she recognises them from the bounty pictures that had done the rounds of the city by this point but they did not seem hostile so she treated them in kind, they requested a private discussion with her which she refused and requested an accompaniment of guards to be with her for any discussion, she offered similar terms ot Ido stating due to Xorm being out of Masincast for a week they would allow the party the chance to prove themselves, their bounties would be put on hold alongside the executions and one prisoner would be let free to accompany them to Dunham. They agree and leave the manor, upon being outside they meet up with Edgeathor who explains that Xorm is gone for a week. The party returns to the broken wheel to consider their plans and next steps. They are unable to leave until the next day while the paperwork is sorted for their bounties, the release of Krump and a procurement of a carriage. Whilst there they check the board looking over the various quests and while doing so are approached by a man named Captain Gorth, he enlists their aidd for an adventure to Dead Skull Island which is said to contain an ancient Artefact relating to the Lucavi. The party eventually agrees and they set out that day, the party gets involved in work on the ship, singing songs and Edgeathor mostly being sick. The weather begins to worsen as Davy Jones ship itself begins to set upon the horizon, the stormy waves ride the ship high, with the rains and wind clattering against wooden frame, with a bit of luck and hard work on their side they manage to pull away from Davy Jones, unwilling to give up the chase, they watch as his ship descends into the abyss below, as they keep up their work it re-appears nearer to them but thankfully still safely away. Finally they spy land and Captain Gorth in desperation runs the ship aground escaping the clutches of Davy Jones. The party begin to explore the island with Kevin being greased up and slid into the cave by Tim, the penguin does live but after sliding into a pool is deeply distraught and flees onto the ship. Edgeathor makes the new lead and promptly triggers a pressure stone being stabbed by a poisoned javelins which breach through the cave wall, after being healed by the Paladin, the halfling Warlock now takes point and successfully guides the crew through the cavern, they stop outside a large circular sanctum, which the paladin senses evil emanating from within and they hearing scuttling around in the darkness,they convince the other group of pirates to head in first, who once they enter the central platform, the door slams shut and they hear only the clatter of steel before it turns to screams, then silence. They touch the door and it reopens with no signs of the previous occupants. They make their way in and the door once more closes in as they enter the middle of the sanctum, crawling hands begin to drop from the ceiling surrounding the party. They overcome this obstacle and make their way deeper into the cavern.
As they make their way around the final bend a break in the wall shows a man made staircase, atop it a column, with stone hands holding a scroll the pillar is bathed inlight shining in from the ceiling illuminating the inner circle of this new room.
Zombies shuffle around the cavern and as the group enter a ghostly apparition (An Allip) forms before the pillar. After a close battle the party comes out victorious, the pillar is adorned with religious symbols found in locations both in the monastery at Gula as well as within certains scriptures from the church of the seven. The party make their way out and sail home with the remaining crew and their share of loot before retiring to the Broken Wheel
