Avian Farmer

CW: Cannibalism

Avian Farmers are a profession in Totania that many find to be the worst job one could have. It is, after all, a double-edged sword.   Avian Farmers are some of the only Avians that are employed officially by Korvians from the Korvian City, and therefore they have considerably higher pay than most other Avian jobs due to the Avian economy being subject to the will of the Korvians.

Duties

Avian Farmers are those that run Avian farms, particularly in AST, the Avian Southern Territory. These are farms that are, on record, run by Avians, thus the name.   However, they are actually run by Korvians, and the name is much more sinister.   Avian Farms grow crops, but mostly to feed the "livestock" that the Korvians use to make their "chicken," a popular dish in Korvian society. But it is not chickens that live on most of these farms.   Instead, there are barns filled with Avians, who are treated by the Korvians as animals to be raised, slaughtered, and eaten. Avian Farmers, then, are Avians forced to run these farms and kill their brethren. It is a torturous position that Avians have no choice but to accept, as otherwise the Korvians would place them in the farms.

Avian Farmers are also forced to taste test the product, making most of the chicken from the dead Avians and eating it, then reporting back to their Korvian bosses about whether it is good or not. If a batch is not good, it is given to the Avians to eat instead of the Korvians, as to not "poison Korvian food."

Chain of Command

Korvian Nobles run these farms, and are the bosses of Avian Farmers. They are the main consumers and distributors of the "chicken" produced by Avian Farmers.   Comparisons have been made between these Korvian Nobles and Vampires, as they feed off of people for their power and sustenance.   Due to this, one prominent Korvian noble who was known to fund these farms was Monster, a Korvian noble and King who was also a Great Vampire Lord. Another was his subordinate, the famed Vampire Lord Gnawer.   Vampires and Avian Farms have deep ties, because both are also closely linked with Korvian nobility.

Attempts at Freedom

There have been many attempts at liberation, and while some have been successful, freeing the farmers and their "livestock" it doesn't last long. The freedom fighters, by virtue of being Avian or Korvian, do not have long lifespans, and therefore cannot stay around long enough to protect the farms.   Alongside this, Korvian culture is quick to forget due to these short lifespans, so in two generations, they generally pop up again, unaware any attempt was made to stop them.
