Bloodwillow Hain

The Bloodwillow Hain is a small woodland area at the southern end of the Easterwillow Dose, a few kilometres north of the Bloodwillow Crossing. It is well known for its ancient willow trees that have orange and red leaves all year.   Rumors tell of a terrible massacre that happened here decades ago, with the blood nurishing the trees till this day. Some people claim the trees have become evil, but the folks of Heidhoft actually know of the benevolent nature of the trees. They tell, that the Bloodwillow Hains has seen so much pain and suffering, their whole being aims toward stopping or relieveing pain.   Few ever have the idea to spend a night at this hain. Some claim to have heard the voices of the dead in the rustling of the willow's leaves. Others have never returned, having fallen asleep beneath the trees, to never wake up again, buried by roots and earth. The Locals know, that people with war and violence in their hearts will risk the anger of the trees and their lives - but anyone willing to heal and help people will be perfectly safe.   Sometimes, young adept druids are traveling with their master to the hain to commune with the trees and gather ingredients for their druid's satchel. If the master is confident enough in the fortitude of their pupil, they will spend the night here, meditating on the nature of loss and health.   As it so happens, Bloodleaves and Bloodwillow Roots are excellent ingredients in healing tinctures.
