The CKGs
Stationed on Geranium, the CKGs are an elite military/exploration group. Run almost entirely by teenagers, the organization has several branches and is the military force for Northern Geranium. They are currently at war with the Visoran Army.
We had to fight back, even if no one helped us. Even if the IPA didn't believe us. So we fought back. Just us. Just us against an entire army led by an immortal dictator.
Structure
The CKGs are roughly split into several groups of professions, each led by an expert, with an overall leader of the entire organization overseeing all departments. These groups are named as follows: Command, Tech and Engineering, Central Intelligence, Medical Corps, Starfighter Corps, Base Management, and Weaponry and Training. Each group has a color that designates their equipment from other groups. The head of Command is also the leader of the organization as a whole, and the leader of the Starfighter Corps also commands their own squadron.
Public Agenda
The CKGs have always focused on improving education and employment for kids and teens, opening opportunities for those who would otherwise not be able to find good jobs. Although they have grown to be very different from their origins, their primary goals have not changed, only expanded. They now seek not only to improve education and employment for kids but to also protect their planet and improve the lives of everyone on Geranium.
Assets
Ever since they became the primary military force of North Geranium, they have received a small amount of government funding. This is paid for by a fraction of taxes across North Geranium. This funding, combined with donations from wealthy benefactors and tuition costs for several of their schools, allows the CKGs to purchase, own, and run multiple facilities and various types of equipment.
The CKGs own a main campus in Northern Geranium, which houses its training centers, hangars, barracks, and command centers. They have a small fleet comprised of four command ships and five dozen starfighters. Their main base is only a ten-minute walk away from a small nearby town.
The cafe wasn't that far from the base, maybe it would be a good place to work without distractions.
History
The Captain Kids of Geranium was founded in 261 APC as a kids' summer camp scout program. The program's goal was to improve education for kids and help them to find employment later in life. Over time, the group received more funding and they began to employ previous attendees as well as expand on the courses that were taught. The CKGs, as they came to be called, grew and evolved slowly over the years until they were run almost entirely by kids and teenagers.
At some point, likely in the 700s APC, the organization began to focus on warfare and
In 942 APC, the CKGs officially became North Geranium's army and their primary military force. This appointment allowed them to receive government funding, although the majority of their money still comes from donations and school tuition. Their enrollment numbers have increased drastically since then, although they have dropped since the beginning of the Visoran War in 996 APC. They have been at war with the Visorans since then.
exploration. They introduced classes about piloting, leadership, recordkeeping, and fighting, as well as specific areas of study such as starfighting, commanding ships, discovering new planets, and battle strategy. These programs evolved even more as the years passed, with former students returning to teach the following generations.

Author's Notes
Don't look too closely at the logistics of how this works. I made them up when I was ten and I refuse to remove them. So uh, let's just assume Geranium has weird child labor laws or something. About the article itself: I had no idea what to write for the sidebar so I just copied down my list of the leaders. Then I had to add two sentences to the main body because it was uneven.
