After a few weeks of separation from the party, Maxim finally reunited with them, only to fall victim to his curiosity when he decided to investigate the explosion foreseen by members of the party.   Unfortunately, a Balor emerged from a portal a few feet from him, pushing him against the walls of the Wizard Tower in Cirflucas, killing him instantly.
