High Chaplain
Qualifications
Like all Brothers of the Third, the High Chaplain had to be a strong, male, virgin of pure Eyhrn ancestry. The High Chaplain was an especially charismatic leader with a knack for military strategy and magic ability.
Appointment
The High Chaplain was appointed by the Arnoran sovereign in a religious ceremony that among many prayers, unctions, and other rites. The most notable aspect was that the quasi vasectomy all Brothers of the Third received was reversed. The reversal was also thought to amplify the High Chaplain's desire to succeed and someday retire.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
The High Chaplain may retire with time to have children though only one of the 5 ever retired as the rest fell in battle. It is rumoured that the third High Chaplain, Arrois Sellone, had an illegitimate child while serving but no one knowns for sure. This likely would have ended Sellone's tenure though he died soon after the rumours began and no investigation ever followed.
History
The role died with High Chaplain Lawrence Arnaud. After nearly the entirety of the Brothers of the Third fell in Olnor, the Kingdom of Arnora came under harsh resistance from the colonies it had stretched its power across. Many mark Arnaud's death as the moment Arnora fell from their position of power and fear in Coulesia. Defeated by fishers in a insignificant port, the power of Arnora felt undeserved.
