Arnora

Structure

Arnoran society was extremely concerned with heritage. Nearly everything you did would be determined by who your ancestors were. If you wanted to hold political power, you must prove your ancestors had, if you want to practice magic, you must prove your ancestors did, etc.  This system obviously favoured those from families who not only maintained privileged lives, but especially those who had record of such things. The monarchist system that this enforced dictated more than just who held power and owned land, but even the most banal of privileges. This obsession with maintaining the roles for people given by god meant that only certain people could ride horses, only certain people could learn to read and write, only certain people could drink alcohol or eat nuts or wear blue shirts. These rules were difficult for a government to enforce, given their difficulty to prove, but many people set about policing themselves because these beliefs were so engrained in Arnoran society.

Public Agenda

Arnora was an explicitly expansionist, imperialist nation who looked to reclaim the land which they claimed for the descendants of Eyhrn. They believed the original lands of the first tribes were given by god to their people and these homelands should be restored and maintained. They did not support the intermingling and interbreeding between ethnicities of differing first tribe.

Disbandment

Arnora fractured after suffering under Aitiir, the Liar King's campaign. The feudal lords of Arnora were deeply shaken in their faith having been scorched by dragonfire. For a time what was once Arnora dissolved into a number of castles left standing and little between them. Years would pass as the divided lords would clash for power or be stormed by roving outlaws before the standing houses would once again unite under a common flag. This would be Aulette.

Demography and Population

Arnora was a strict ethnostate only for humans. Arnora saw themselves as the nation of undiluted Eyhrn descendants. Despite the Gjorans' claim to Eyhrn's blood, the Arnorans claimed the size of the Gjorans was a clear sign of their breeding with others. (untrue)

Military

Arnora were successful in so many of their military endeavours because of what their morality allowed and other cultures forbade. The Arnoran use of necromantic magic was a keen advantage that most other nations outlawed. This turned the tide of many battles for Arnora who would raise the fallen they had just slain to fight their own brothers.

Religion

Arnora was governed with Eyhrn at the centre. Her tenets can be seen reflected in these major aspects of Arnora:   I gift you life so that you may do the same.- Birth was not only a beloved event but was seen as a civil duty to the nation.   Cherish creation in all its forms.- Artists were highly respected figures and with the organizational structure of Arnora, record keeping and storytelling were of utmost importance. Those who could afford it would have long tapestries of their family history woven and passed down to be added to by their children and grandchildren.   Grow my love to envelope the world.- This was the justification of Arnora's rampant imperialism that stood at the front of their outward identity.
